  Basic and comfortable

  The hotel room was clean and had all the usual basic amenities. We were travelling with our elderly mother and so were 3 adults staying in the room. The room was spacious with tall ceiling, large windows looking onto the street, which was busy during the day but nicely quiet at night, which gave us a good night's rest. Beds were comfortable and so a weary traveller can have good night sleep before exploring Kiel. Location is good - right in the centre of the town and not too far from the seaport. Car parking was at the back of the hotel. Local police and hotel staff were very helpful and friendly letting us stop and unload in front of the hotel, which has some traffic restrictions, before directing us into the car park at the back of the hotel. The bathroom was adequate, wifi working well and continental buffet breakfast downstairs was good with enough choice for omnivores as well as the vegetarian amongst us. Staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English and gave us all the necessary tourist info. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops in the walking distance from the hotel - so in terms of locations it's excellent. While not luxurious, all in all it's comfortable and we found it fairly good value for money.

  Very well serviced. Olde town hotel.

  Incredibly customer focused staff/management. Had problems with my check in (reception closed after 2230) and got a free night plus free breakfast without even asking for it. Found that very caring. Rooms are a little outdated. But they are currently getting new ones. (June 19). Parking is public and only free from 22:00 to 10:00. Definitely recommend that hotel for downtown Kiel. However the Nelly is right next to it and also supposed to be very nice. Enjoy your trip.

  No hot water

  The staff was nice at check in and we got our room. We had booket a room with a dobblebed and got 3 single beds. There was no hot water in the shower. We asked the staff kindly to fix it the first morning and she said she would contact the manager. When we got back that night, the beds wasnt fixed and the water was still cold. We asked him to fix it, but he just said, that it was the best room and the water was fixed. I would never stay there again.
