  Good quality price ratio but no charm

  Friendly welcome, good bargain and comfortable rooms and bathrooms for the positive. But no charm at all: standard architecture and building materials and average interior design. A good option if you attend one of the weddings or birthday parties organised in the castles around Houdan.

  Good One Night stop-over Hotel and Good Value

  It's quiet, reasonably comfortable though basic in both physical and service aspects. It worked as a stop over hotel but for a longer stay I'd want more atmosphere. The thing that makes it a great find is the price. I could see that the business traveller/rep or junior professional would come again as well as someone like me on the move requiring a no frills stop over. The calm and the mattress ensured a good rest.

  Hobson's Choice or any port in a storm

  This appeared to be the only hotel open in Houdan. It is quite new and modern, and is situated outside the town but is within easy walking distance of the centre. There is a large free parking area outside the hotel, but it is sad that it has an unfortunate name! The rooms are clean and cheerful, the bed comfortable and the location very quiet allowing undisturbed sleep. There was no evening meal available and the breakfast next day was basic but adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful and it provided an adequate overnight stopping place.

  A good stay

  This is a hotel located just at the outskirts of Houdan (which is a small village) so it offers parking and the center is a 5 min walk. Rooms are clean and nice inside although the walls are thin. Breakfast is a bit expensive, I'd advise to go to a boulangerie in the town. Staff is helpful.

  This did exactly what we wanted. It was clean, tidy well run and comfortable. Yes its a modern building, yes there is a large car park. The host was kind enough to store Easter eggs in the fridge for us. Houdan is such a small place, there are plenty of restaurants and bars. Its a pleasant town. I would heartily recommend this hotel for any stopover. Its okay for Giverny or even Paris. Ramboulet and Versailles are easy to get to. The host was a lovely lady and spoke both English and French. She made an effort to speak English with my wife who relies on me for translation. Breakfast, continental style was fine. Check in was quick and easy.
