  Another average dinner at Invite Hotel Löwen.

  The former Schwärs Löwen hotel in Littenweiler changed hands recently and is now called the Invite Hotel Löwen. We met up with several friends there for dinner and the food was, as before, just average. So, no noticeable change yet under the new management.

  Poor experience

  Too far out of town and due to roadworks there were no buses available. The hotel is a bit shabby and the reception area dated. Rooms were clean and quiet if your room was at the back with no view. Restaurant staff very rude and menu choices very limited. Food was not good quality and certainly not typical German traditions. Overall we felt the hotel was too expensive for such inferior service.

  Another average hotel dinner

  If anything, since my last review, the standard of service in the hotel has been reduced - with one staff member serving 20 of us with drinks and dinner. She was almost overwhelmed. As usual, the price was expensive compared with other similar establishments.

  A week here is too long

  Lots to say; we booke a week through booking.com and cancelled as it was much economicall to book through the hotel directly. Arrived on a Sunday, we were not informed verbally the restaurant was closed that evening. Nor were we informed it was closed the following evening either; we found out the hard way at 7.30pm. Monday closed. Why? The cook worked over the Easter period! Room 103 for just one night, because of the fighting, running, jumping etc in the room directly above and they too flooded their bathroom and so the water came through the ceiling of our room. We ate in the restaurant one night. The printed menu was old, tired and had no variation, I guess in the last six months. Breakfasts were the same, four sausages were in the tray, Monday and Tuesday morning, The bacon had been bolied in water and wass still in water at 8am. Eggs cooked before 7am were stone cold at 8am. Jams in pre-packed packages. Flooded car park. This place needs some TLC. The reception area was dead, devoid of noise, no gentle music. A little music too would have helped in the dining area. No TV paper for the new week, TV volumn was fixed very low so we had to sit almost on top of the TV to hear it. I have said all that but the room was lovely, beds comfortable. Mini bar empty and you could not but things in to keep cold. It did not work like that and the young lady receptionist would not come to the room to show us how it worked even though I asked here twice. Public transport opposite the hotel is ideal into Freiburg

  Sit on the terrace

  We were on the second floor and the best part of the room was the small terrace outside with a sliding door entrance. The room had a small fridge that we couldn't get to cool down. Pleasant staff and free parking.

  Ok but could be better with a few tweaks

  Positives: Very clean family room with plenty of space. Free on-site car parking Very pleasant staff Free breakfast Room for improvement The pillows!!! Worst pillows Ive ever slept on. There is practically no filling in them and when you put your head on them, what is in there goes either side of your head. Beds, way too hard. I know everyone is different when it comes to bed firmness but combined with the poor pillow, I was aching after the little amount of sleep I had. Towels. Whilst the bathroom is a reasonable size the towels are not. Im quite small and they just wrapped around me!! And if you have long hair to dry, there is no way they will cover it. But the water is hot and has a good pressure in the shower. We would stay again if we came but would bring our own pillows

  Hotel de carretera en medio de la nada

  El hotel no es de 4 más bien de 2 No dispone de ascensor y la limpieza escasa, desayuno muy básico, lo peor su ubicación, está en una zona residencial en medio de la nada, si no dispones de vehículo lo tienes complicado para llegar a Friburgo porque tendrías que coger 2 medios de transporte, además no dispone de restaurante, y los más cercanos están a 1,3 kms., y es complicado ir andando sobre todo por la noche porque la iluminación es escasa. Pone que tiene caja fuerte y será en algunas habitaciones, la mía no desde luego, las camas son de 80 cms, más pequeñas imposibles y ni siquiera se molestaban en ahuecar la almohada al hacer la cama. Desde luego para no repetir, es un hotel para pasar una noche de emergencia y poco más.

  Home away from home

  The sweetest, friendliest, and quaintest hotel in Freiburg. Its nestled in a residential community right on the bus route. Older and no frills hotel but clean, quiet, and well maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. A special shout out to Niels Eggers. Niels had been an exchange student in Utah not far from my home. Niels treated me like an old friend. This was my second stay and Ill stay here every time I visit.
