  Clean, functional hotel close to Tang Bridge subway station

  Stayed at Four Points Sheraton on the earlier trip but decided to check out a local hotel. Functional and this one's definitely better than Home Inn or even Ibis. Room was nice size and pine coloured furniture gave a bright, pleasant appearance. Staff cheerful overall with exception of the pony tail lady on the second morning. Id like to think she needed training rather than a bad attitude. You can only communicate in Chinese in this hotel. Easy to hail cab. It cost me RMB178 from Pudong Airport to the hotel. Interesting night vendors along the street outside the hotel selling noodles, fried pancake, chinese buns add local colour. I certainly liked the fried vegetarain noodles from this one vendor with a long line of fans and how can you complain @ RMB6 for a hearty delicious meal (did not make me sick), the locals were adding meat or sausages which I did not fancy for another RMB2. Theres a McDonalds round the bend which is a must-see if only to know the culturally different menu. 5 mins walk to TangBridge subway station. Theres no shade along the way so on a hot day or if it rains, can be a little uncomfortable. Taxi is easy to hail and theres a good cobbler in the next sidestreet that did a great job replacing the leather lining of my treasured handbag. I loved the bun shop outside the hotel and actually bought half a dozen of those buns home.

  A little tired around the edges

  The room was OK but is showing its age, room had all you need but the pressure on the shower was poor. Bed clean and comfortable. Staff spoke little English but I could manage. Close to the metro and with a wide range of eateries in the area very convenient.
