  Exceptional service

  JW Marriott Haitang Bay recently changed it's name (formerly Royal Begonia, Luxury collection, Sanya). As there are 2 x JW Marriott hotels on the island, we recommend clarifying the location before organizing airport transfers. The Guest Service Manager (Mark Li) was incredibly helpful, in supporting adaptations to our reservation, as well as Ella/Verna who were so welcoming (food/beverage team)

  Good location, excellent staff

  I stayed here for work. Staff are management were super nice, friendly and helpful. The W kitchen (main restaurant) is great, and New Years dinner was well-prepared. Chefs and waiters were professional. The swimming pool is heated and that made the trip even more enjoyable.

  JW MARRIOTT!!!

  We liked the cosy atmosphere in this hotel, not the newest Hotel but well mentained and big rooms with comfortable atmosphere. Main issue is the english language but with the help of the concierge Lucas we had only few language barrieres. Food was very good, SPA is nice and the pool area very big, we where almost alone during the day. The staff prepared our favorite drinks and tried to be helpful even if they did not understand.

  Need for maintenance upgrades

  Rebranded but not upgraded, this hotel does not match JW Marriott standards... Chinese restaurant is shared with Sheraton, overall infrastructures are falling in pieces, many fountains and pool area are not working. Staff in front office, restaurants and bar are nice. Housekeeping and pool staff are watching videos on their phone at the view of the clients. Urgent change: the kids playground (first picture). This is unacceptable...

  Outstanding Retreat usual Excellent JW service

  This was a perfect escape and with the usual JW service. We booked a villa and it was spacious, clean, private and comfortable. Spacious bedroom, bathroom, living room and patio. Our own walled garden with a 12m pool, room service and a short walk to the beach which is wild and undeveloped, palm trees on the shoreline, but too wild to swim with big and complicated waves rolling in; soft sand and long walks possible. Set back a few hundred metres are one 5* hotel after another along the bay, but not crowded and they do not impinge on the shoreline which is open to the public. We found a great Indonesian restaurant at Barbacoa at Edition a half hour walk up the beach. At JW as vegetarians it took a bit of time to get our needs recognised and a menu sorted out, but appreciated the support of F&B manager Hannah, the care of Cassie who arranged the booking and a car hire for the day and Kenneth who looked after us each breakfast. We checked out many other hotels along this bay and in Yalong Bay and for us, none compared. If you want a busy resort with loud music go somewhere else. Also if you want a good and varied international menu. We do think that is a consequence of few foreign visitors during the COVID impacted first year of this new JW, which had its first anniversary during our stay. We will certainly be back, we will book a villa again and hope the JW will hire an international chef to make sure that the items on the table match description on the menu! With Appreciation!
