  Decent Stay

  We visited this place during the Fifa World Cup 2018. The place is around 3 kms away from the city centre and the main railway station. Just a min walk to the bus stop and main road. Easy to locate and the staff was nice. Breakfast served was good and it had free wifi. The rooms were quite spacious and well ventilated due to the huge glass windows. View outside was also nice. We stayed here only for a night so could not enjoy the place much, but definitely worth recommending.

  Nice accommodation

  We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is easy to reach with the metro system. Just 8 minutes of walk to the station and then you are quit fast in the city center. The rooms are clean. The towels are changed every day, what is to often in my opinion. The breakfast is in European style. A buffet with everything you need is fully provided till the end of breakfast time.

  It Grew on Me

  This was the last stop of a 12 day tour and it was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. We arrived quite late at night (as a group of 16) and the service we received could not have been worse. Unhelpful, sulky and grumpy are the words best used to describe it. Nothing offered on arrival - not water, no open bar, nothing. The rooms feel like they have not been refurbished since the Brehznev years and the smell of disinfectant and ammonia in the corridors is overwhelming. The rooms are very hot and there is no air-conditioning. I had one tiny half-pillow on a big double bed. Tired and in need of a refurb overall. The breakfasts were the worse we had had so far - dull, basic. Before we left, the service did improve. Tatyana at reception more than made up for the surly man we met on the first night, and the bar staff were very accommodating. Seriously in need of a face lift - the broken down cars in the parking lot do not add to the ambiance at all. I have recommended to the tour company that they take this hotel off the itinerary. It is way outside of town and dab in the middle of a residential area. The subway is quite close though but other than that there are no interesting bars or restaurants. Once you are in the hotel, that's it! As a final warning, their wifi password system is weird - do not just take the password they give you; you have to have it activated at reception. The angry man at reception neglected to tell us this.

  Superb in low cost

  We arrived by train in very early say 10am and they offered check-in to us. It is a old hotel. But location is very convenient. Metro around 5 mins walk and local shopping mall around 10 mins walk. The room is large, equipped everything a hotel shall have, tidy and clean, breakfast is quite full, and you can fill free distilled water on 3rd floor. As well the counter lady spoke English very well and kept smile. The improvement needed - the room door lock quality is quite weak and some sound will be made.

  Good value for money

  Ladoga Hotel is conveniently located near the Novocherkasskaya metro. When I was there there it was half-empty and quiet. No queues at breakfast, a lot of empty parking spots. A great base to discover St. Petersburg alone or with a family.
