    desastroso hotel

    Great stay with excellent fod

Stayed here for two nights on our way to the Loire. On arrival we remembered staying here before, but the outstanding memory was the food. We were certainly not disappointed. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was first class as was the service. I think we were the only English speakers in the (always) full restaurant, but we were given a Menu in English and the one that was not in English was translated by one of the young staff. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We asked the gentleman on reception (the owner) if he would be kind enough o call a Logis we wanted to stay at for our next destination, as my French is not good enough when the recipient answers in "full flow" ! He had to try three before we found one and was so helpful I would recommend this Logis to anyone who likes good French cooking and a good bed for the night.

    6 day break

In a lovely part of the French coast. Hotel in a lovely spot just 10 to 15 minutes walk from all the restaurant bars and golden beaches. Lovely service very clean . Swimming pool available 8_8 Excellent restaurant frequented by external users as well, English spoken but sparingly . I liked having a hired car so we could explore the coast but train and bus service very good we were advised

    Brilliant Hotel and Restaurant

When my wife told me she had booked three nights in a French hotel with such an English name I must admit to some trepidation. The location was always going to be perfect for a three night stopover coming up from Pays Basque to St Malo but why the name? I should not be concerned with such trivialities! On arrival one immediate advantage was the parking. Right outside the front door is a fairly large public car park, although Le Robinson has its own secure car park too. The Receptionist was charming and spoke very good English. It transpired that she was the Great Grand-daughter of the founders but she said nobody in the family knew why the hotel was called such. I immediately conjured up several theories regarding the last year of WW2 and certain liaisons going on...! The accommodation was very good and we had ordered a balcony room. The balcony, albeit with views overlooking a minor road and the entrance to the private car park, was large and well appointed as was the room. The restaurant was fantastic. Plenty of choices and a wonderful atmosphere. Also very busy but we were served helpfully and efficiently. Food was superb and I fear I rather over-indulged which was easy to do! Eventually, each evening, after returning to our room via the comfortable bar, we found the bed very comfortable and slept well each night. Breakfast, although of the continental buffet style, was well thought out with no shortage of any item. As soon as individual items got even slightly low the containers were replenished. Plenty of choice of hot and cold beverages. I can only come up with one minor irritation - not a complaint - during our stay. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities but we were not given milk. Its actually quite rare for us to use these facilities anyway so it didnt really make a lot of difference, although when we arrived after a five and a half hour drive I did actually fancy a coffee. The location of the hotel is about 30 minutes walk from the beach (make sure you take the first on the left by the pirate ship - about the third exit if driving - or it becomes a 45 minute walk!) and about 10 from the shopping centre in the opposite direction. The hotel is right opposite the fire and ambulance station but there was no disturbance as there is a dual carriageway in between. Not a gripe about the hotel but the beach-front restaurants, in the main, will not just serve a glass of wine to you but will expect you to order a meal. We have experienced this attitude every time we have been here. In the end we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine in the bar. Superb! Which is probably a good word to finish this review on - superb! I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and give it five stars in any genre you care to name. Well done Le Robinson and well done to my wife for finding it. Well be back!

    Dont book this hotel

We had to cancel our trip to France due to government advice not to travel. Two weeks before our visit we emailed five hotels, two ferry companies and a campsite to ask if we could defer our booking for a year and translated to French. All said yes except this hotel who just sent a two word email NO POSSIBLE!. (As written in capital letters) They then charged us the full amount. No apology, no reason given, no customer service! Just 2 words! Understandable maybe with a more courteous reply. Well here is my 4 word response. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
