  Truely fantastic apartment, views and service

  Stayed for a week in August 2016. Apartment is in a beautiful location and really well equipped. Hotel manager and cleaner were both delightful, so helpful and both did an amazing job. Apartment was spotless including the gas BBQ! Shops are walking distance but we hired a car to go to explore the island and to go to the bigger supermarkets. Snorkelling in Blue Bay will be a rocking chair moment, we swam in shoals of brightly coloured fish. Snorkelling from the beach outside our apartment was not easy due to sea urchins and rocks but people were snorkelling in the bay from boats.

  WARNING TO ALL VISITORS

  Although the apartments are stunning, security is a major concern. On our 4th night someone entered our bedroom while we were sleeping, in our 1st floor apartment, and stole my watch, wallet and cellphone as well as my girlfriend's jewellery. A similar event occurred next door at Belle Crique where friends of ours lost two I Phones and approx. $1000 in cash. On various occasions strangers were seen on the premises who ran away when approached. Security seems to consist only of a guard at the entrance from the road and anyone can access the properties from the beach. Be warned - keep all doors locked at all times!! Getting a report for insurance purposes from the Mauritian police is a mission and spoils at least one more day...

  Comfortable apartment but complex (yard and amenities) in need of refresh.

  Well appointed and comfortable apartment with all amenities. Yard well groomed and tidy, but pool had algae spots in places and wooden deck had nails protruding. Lights in and around pool did not work. Not much of a beach in front, rocky. Great for snorkeling but not for swimming. Great sunsets, but no views of Le Morne which is a shame for Tamarin/Rivière Noire. Only 2 of the 4 available apartments have good Seaview. Horizon has good staff, but offering is expensive given what is available in Mauritius...

  Spectacular

  One of the nicest holidays weve had. Fell in love with the Tamarin / Black River area & even more so with the apartment. Beautiful location, lovely complex, nice shops & a few decent restaurants near by. BBQ at the apartment so we didnt always have to go out to dinner. The apartment was kept spotless by a lovely housekeeper and the Horizon resort manager (Ashley) stayed in touch, always on hand if we needed anything. Weve been to Mauritius many times, but this was 1st time in Tamarin. We surfed in Tamarin Bay, paddle boarded at Le Morne, took a boat trip to benitiers island.......We could return to this spot again & again and skip the other areas we have stayed in before. Wonderful.

  Great place to be on the West Coast

  We were really satisfied in Leora. We had the Beachfront apartment, which means, it is facing the ocean. It can be either ground floor or first floor. We got the fist floor apartment and it was amazing. The view from the terrace is just great - great sunset you can see. The apartment has 3 bedrooms and a main living room with kitchen. All furniture looks really modern and new. The master bedroom is really spacious. The other two bedrooms are more "functional". But the living room is great. Kitchen is very well equipped will all needed items. We were using the kitchen quite a bit and it was all fine. The London Way super market is around 2-3 minutes by car away and there you get everything you need. The beach is very rocky and you can not swim there. But the pool area is brilliant. Unfortunately for the beach you need to find other places, but on Mauritius this is not a problem at all. The manager was really friendly. Checkin and checkout worked without any problem.
