  In Lijiang, an very good choice for lodging

  We had a pretty good stay here. The place is still kinda new, so is nice and kept up. The staff was always responsive to our needs, and were nice to us all the time. The business center prices for shuttles/drivers/trips were inflated, so we never used them. Just be sure to not book a room on the front side of the hotel, as there is a KTV opposite the front entrance, and at night the noise from people outside the KTV was a problem (we had to switch to another room the second day, but they switched us with no qualms.) The breakfast buffet was definitely chinese style, and wasn't impressive, but we slept in every day anyway. The hotel location is good, as it is only a few minutes walk back to some of the main streets in new town, and only about 20/25 minute walk to the entrance to Lijiang Old town.

  Best value for money

  We spent 5 nights at Best Li hotel. The room was very comfortable, comparable to those 5 stars hotel. There is an open space on each level, it is nice to chill out there after a day out. The daily breakfast spread was wonderful although it is mainly catered to the local market after all the guests are mostly chinese. So it will work out well if your palette is more Asian. Best part of it is the airport shuttle is complimentary both ways if you stay for 5 nights, otherwise it's only one way... Which is very good too. Very quiet and only a 20mins slow walk to Dayan old town. Conveniently located, will not have any problems locating it and easy to manage your luggage around it coz unlike the old town, there are no cobbled streets to deal with. Just note that the private car hire at the hotel is extremely expensive by china standards. It's RMB600/ 7 seater van/ day. If you have more people, it works out well. Otherwise, it's cheaper outside. Overall, a good value for money accommodation.

  Beautiful hotel with a great atmosphere

  When you first enter this hotel you feel in awe of the design. The hotel is setup around a large indoor courtyard and it looks amazing; especially at night. The staff were very friendly and attentive, one of the girls working the front desk speaks English well enough and was very helpful and kind. The breakfast is not great but its free. The dinner was hit or miss. Everything is setup buffet style so the options change from day to day. The rooms were amazing. The bathroom was really nice and the bed is big and comfortable. We had minor issues with the TV but they fixed it for us. The noise was not a major problem, but sometimes you can hear people talking loudly or children running around. The girl playing the mandolin was pleasant to hear and added to the charm of the hotel.

  Great atmosphere & rooms in a cool character hotel

  I spent two nights (May 21 & 22, 2018) at the Lijiang Best Li Hotel. I found the hotel to be impressive for China: clean, luxurious & well appointed. With a unique design, with rooms around a central multi-level courtyard, it felt like one was staying in a prestigious Chinese hotel. Staff were very courteous and efficient. I stayed in room B203, featuring a king size bed & large bathroom, with soaker tub & separate shower. All towels, linens & pillows were of good quality. I found my room to be very quiet & comfortable. My room rate included the breakfast buffet in their restaurant (sorry, but no Western food options were available & the buffet was average at best). Cigarette and cigar smoking was permitted in common areas, which is quite usual in China. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about the Lijiang Beat Li Hotel. I give it a score of 5 out of 5. I highly recommend the Lijiang Best Li Hotel if you are in Lijiang and looking to stay in a cool character hotel.
