  A business trip that became a spa holiday

  Having been to Lilongwe before, I did not expect this trip to be a comfortable holiday, but the staff of Madrid Lodge spoiled us with wonderful service. Of course the pace is a bit slower in this country, and we all know that there are power cuts, water pressure issues and slow internet everywhere in Malawi, but Evelyn and her team make the best out of it and help us customers with literally everything. The food is delicious, drinks are good, the staff is smiling and polite, everything is clean and the rooms are very spacy. Facilities for working are available, our rooms were calm (I am extremely sensitive). The best aspects though, and especially important to me, were the amazing spa with some great treatments, and the perfect beds. Not too soft, not too hard, my spine found peace and I could solve some neck problems that had been there for a long while. Will come back for sure!

  Little hidden oasis in the middle of Lilongwe

  I was here on business but Madidi made it feel like a holiday. Everything is clean, there's a driver available, food is great and the common area outside is very pleasant by the pool. Their laundry service is excellent. Overall I can't complain and I loved staying here.

  Disappointing

  We stayed at the Madidi Lodge two nights once on our way to Zambia and again on our return. On our first night we were greeted at reception by staff who took us to our room. First impressions were good the staff were helpful and the meal in the evening was ok. Unfortunately on closer inspection the bathroom was looking old and tired, no hot water and a shower that came of in my hand. On our return from Zambia we spent our second night at the lodge. First of all we were taken to a room that hadn't even been made up, bed clothes everywhere. After being shown to another room I decided to try the shower, again no hot water after a long days travel a hot shower would of been nice. Skipping a cold shower we went down to the bar for a couple of drinks and a catch up with travel companions. Whilst there we all ordered food for dinner there were six of us in total eating and there were no other diners that evening. The meals were waiting on the table as we were shown through to our seats. Out of six meals only one was ok, the food was cold as well as the sides we had ordered. After the meal I went to find a manager but could only find the night manager, I explained how bad the food was but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. The breakfast the following morning was much the same cold and pretty un edible. On checkout my bill was larger than the first nights I found that hard to understand as I had a lot less to drink than the previous time, when I mentioned this I was ignored along with my complaint about the food.

  Hotel muy correcto

  Estuvimos dos noches. La primera en una habitación muy amplia, y la segunda en una mas pequeña. Limpieza bien, piscina, desayuno correcto y cena correcta a un precio razonable. El servicio muy bien y muy amables. Ubicación del hotel, en una zona muy tranquila y residencial que nos permitió poder salir a dar un paseo tranquilamente.

  The food was on point and the place is quite and lovely which included the surrounding and security and even services provided were exceptional and it is a place I would recommend to even go with business clients or partners
