  B&B Típico y pintoresco

  Mi mujer y yo decidimos pasar unos días en el renombrado Lake District, lugar turístico tranquilo y familiar muy conocido en el mundo anglosajón y no tanto en España. Es un turismo tranquilo, de calidad y lejos de ambientes playeros. Ideal para excursiones a pie, senderismo, montañeros, etc. El establecimiento está en la línea de los típicos "Bed & Breakfast" ingleses. Lugar coqueto y acogedor, todo enmoquetado como suelen ser allí todos estos establecimientos por las frías temperaturas imperantes la mayor parte del año. El propósito de nuestra visita era el de pasar una semana visitando el Lake District, con lo cual, lo que podíamos esperar del establecimiento era un desayuno correcto y una habitación suficiente, limpia y adecuada. Efectivamente, la habitación estaba limpia, correcta, la cama muy cómoda, no tanto las almohadas y cada día, incluyendo sábados y domingos y tras salir nosotros de excursión por las mañanas, el personal limpiaba y hacía la citada habitación. En cuanto al desayuno, si eres inglés y estás habituado al desayuno típico inglés (alubias cocinadas con bacon, huevo frito, etc.), o si no te importa probarlo y tu estómago te lo permite, estarás satisfecho. Si eres montañero o excursionista a pie y te espera un buen día de caminata, también será un gran desayuno. No obstante, si te lo vas a tomar con más calma, va uno más en plan de paseo, realizando visitas en coche, parando en los miradores, viendo los museos, poblaciones pintorescas, o tras los pasos del gran poeta inglés Wordsworth, etc. y se espera uno un desayuno continental pues la verdad es que es más bien escasito: aparte del café con leche, un zumito de naranja de brik ya servido en vaso sobre la mesa según bajas a desayunar (no lo abre uno mismo) y unas tostadas con mermelada y mantequilla pues poco más. Escaso. Importante para personas con movilidad reducida: no hay ascensor. Es, de todas formas, un establecimiento de lo más económico que hay en la zona, muy bien situado, pues en menos de 5 minutos andando te plantas en el centro de la población de Keswick, donde hay pubs, cafeterías, restaurantes, etc. Tampoco podemos esperar mucho más, pues cualquier hotelito de mala muerte en España es superior a este tipo de establecimientos en Inglaterra y si uno busca en el Reino Unido un hotelito de lo más normal en España, los precios se le van a uno de las manos. Un 2-3 estrellas en España, en Inglaterra tienen precios de lujo. Este sitio está muy bien para la zona y la población también es de las que tienen mejores servicios y está bien ubicada. Dicen que tiene aparcamiento, lo cual es falso, hay que aparcar en la calle. En la época en la que fuimos nosotros, la calle estaba bastante llena y tocaba aparcar una vez aquí, otra allí pero siempre encontrabas plaza. Si se va en épocas de menos afluencia, seguro que en este caso no hay problemas.

  Lovely b&b, value for money

  Just spent 3 nights at this lovely b&b, friendly staff, rooms clean and tidy and excellent breakfast. Ideal location, close to main centre of town. Would definitely recommend,and would definitely stay again in future. Colour tv and wi-fi, plus plenty of tea and coffee.

  Lovely b&b!

  Stayed here with my partner for the Easter bank holiday and was pleasantly surprised by this b&b. We booked quite last minute so booked one of the last rooms available. The room was nice and spacious with a small en suite bathroom with a shower. The room had a selection of teas/coffees which was a nice touch. Overall we were happy with the room, the only thing I would say is that the walls are quite thin and the floor boards were creaky so it did make quite a lot of noise when the guests above us walked around. However wed seen this on other reviews so were prepared with ear plugs! Although we didnt need to use them much in the end. The breakfast was nice, a full English with a selection of cereals. The breakfast room is small and therefore some guests have to share tables with other rooms although we didnt mind this at all. The owner/manager of the b&b was lovely and attentive; on the first day I mentioned I was vegetarian and by our second morning she had prepped me some veggie sausages and hash browns to go with my breakfast - really appreciated and good customer service! Overall would recommend this b&b and thought it was good value for money.

  Rude and Unprofessional Owner

  This is my first time staying in a B&B, so I did not really know what to expect. Advantages: Clean room and bathroom. Close to town. Tiny private bathroom with shower Disadvantages: -Old furniture. -dovets were old and ugly so was the carpet. -Very hard and old pillows and uncomfortable Noisy bed. -The bathroom only had liquid hand soap that was half used. -The floor was so noisy and wall paperthin so we had to tiptoe and wisper all the time. -You are not allowed to bring food into your room or enter with your walking boots so we had to take our shoes off and leave them in the entrance. The steps of the stairs are so small and carpeted which caused me to slip and fall from the stairs because I was wearing only socks giving me a huge bruise and major back pain. -Breakfast is served from 8-9 only. -Cups were never changed. -Check out is at 10 am. -when I booked it stated that luggage storage is available so after I checked out I asked the owner ( Viera) were I can keep my luggage until 12pm and she said to leave it in the living room but I came back at 3:30 pm -after a walk in whinlatter forrest where there was no phone reception-to pick it up there was no one there to answer the door bell so I called the owner at the cellphone written on the door and when I told her I am back to pick up my luggage she started yelling and saying I am late and I was supposed to call her to tell her I was coming late and that she is not home and I asked her if there is anyone else who could open the door for me because my taxi is here and I have to be at the train station she first answered no I am out and its not my problem then said she will send someone to open the door for me, 5 minutes later one of the neighbors opened the door for me, why did she have to yell and be so rude if this problem can be easily solved? And why is this business run by 1 person only? HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

  I stayed at this Bed and Breakfast with my two sisters . First appearance of the building is unwelcoming and very shabby indeed. The accommodation itself it antiquated and needs serious updating. Whilst the bedding , towels and table clothes appeared clean the room itself was well below average . The refreshment facilities consisted of a kettle and three mugs with one teaspoon and a limited choice of drinks !! It is advertised as having a colour TV in the room , however there was no picture. The owner was approached regarding this and we received no feedback whatsoever until the day we checked out when she informed us she needed to buy a new TV. There were no options for breakfast, limited choice of cereal in Tupperwares on a very small table , a standard very average cooked breakfast and toast . The furniture , bedding and curtains needed updating and it was very dusty in places including the bathroom. The room was not ideally big enough for three adults and there was barely room to manoeuvre let alone get dressed etc. The owner demonstrated no polite or courteous hosting skills and was unhelpful to say the least. I would definitely not recommend this accommodation to anyone . The notice in the window of the entrance displays the rating for food hygiene however this dates back to 2013!! The whole place needs a lot of work and upgrading !
