    Very bad experience

The hotel is pretty close to Sabiha Gokcen airport. I stay here 1 night: air conditioning is not working, the sink was clogged, WiFi was impossible to use. The staff does not speak or understand English. Ive been in 2 stars hotels with more quality service and client care.

    Stay In Istanbul

The 'Miracle Hotel' is located in the 'Harmendere District' of Istanbul and its a very quick drive from 'Sabiha Gokcen Airport' meaning it is ideally placed for travellers and workers in the local area, like myself. Upon entering the hotel we had to have our bags sanitised by a sterilising machine (sort of like a leaf blower with mist) and also our temperatures taken. Security is taken very seriously at this hotel which makes you feel very secure and safe. In addition to this every entrance is manned with a gate and there is a police office present in the hotel lobby at all times, meaning at no time did i feel like my safety was being compromised. The check in procedure was a bit tedious to say the least. As there was a big group of us arriving at once , and with the hotel insisting they kept hold of everyone's passports it did take a while to get my room key which was a pain after travelling all day, but finally we got there and we made way to our rooms. I was staying on the 5th floor. The rooms themselves were very spacious but extremely badly lit and even though there was plenty of 'no smoking' signs around had the stale smell of smoke in the air. The bed itself was very comfortable and a good size, with the bed linen being changed and made everyday. It was quite a firm mattress, which i personally like but the pillows were very soft not allowing for any support for your head during the night. It would of been nice to of had a choice of pillows. I have to admit though housekeeping was great in the room , changing the bins, towels and sheets everyday is a nicety and very much appreciated after a long hard day at work. In addition to this the laundry service was extremely fast and efficient. You would just have to leave your bag outside before 9:00AM and your clothes would be returned to you freshly laundered by 6PM the very same night. The en-suite bathroom was also very spacious with a generously sized shower and his and hers sinks to compliment it. The shower itself was good with great water pressure but unfortunately did not stay hot for very long. Plenty of fresh towels everyday though which was a bonus. In my room I also had a huge luggage storage area room, which was great for me to leave my bag and clothes in to keep them out the way. In here was also a safe so I could keep my jewellery and electronics in throughout the day. The light however was broken in this room and even after asking reception a few times they still did not come and fix it, so I found myself getting dressed in the dark a few times. The Wi-fi signal in the whole hotel was extremely poor. Not built to handle more than a few guests with average download speeds of 2mb it struggled to even load poor quality 'YouTube' videos, and was absolutely useless to contact home on. I would suggest when you stay either pre-download videos on 'Netflix' etc or make sure you have a generous data allowance on your mobile phone as it will be a lot quicker and you will use it up quickly as the hotel Wi-Fi is barely usable - which for me was a big downfall. The saving grace however to this hotel was the absolutely wonderful 'Spa' facilities located on the lower ground floor. Consisting of a pool, gym , sauna and steam room. The pool itself was of great size and a perfect room temperature making use of this I went swimming every single day. The flooring was heated around the pool and non-slippy making it safe and comfortable for your feet. Also there was a great poolside shower making it nice and easy to wash the chlorine off after going swimming. It was incredibly clean around all areas of the pool to giving you that extra level of certainty in these Pandemic times! The sauna and steam room where also to the same standard of the pool and extremely roomy and kept incredibly clean at all times. Use of these facilities is included with your stay and its open supposedly until 23:00 every night, however I did go at 22:00 one night and everything was closed up, so not sure if they close early if someone hasn't been in, in a while. The Bar area was also part of the lobby had lots of seating and served 'Efes' Turkey's own lager on draft so in my books that went down as a win. As we were staying for 2 weeks here the hotel put on live music every night to keep us entertained, which i thought was a really nice touch. With local singers singing a mix of Turkish and English classics. The food at the hotel was okay. The selection was very basic and it did not change many nights, it was always chips with some sort of meat, which would get very repetitive over the 2 week period we stayed. However the staff in the restaurant themselves were excellent at clearing away plates and getting you fresh drinks at all times and very friendly. Breakfast was also more of the same, another buffet style and was okay, but always the same foods everyday. A good thing though was that even in a 'Muslim' country they still provided us with bacon and sausages made from pig, which I know was appreciated by a-lot of our travelling party. On the photos published by the hotel and on their website this place looks like a high class hotel, however it is probably some years ago since this was the case, and everything is looking a bit tired. I would recommend staying here for maybe 1 or 2 nights if you need to be close for the airport. However if you are staying for longer in 'Turkey' I would say to look elsewhere for your trip.
