  Acogedor hotel en old town

  Nos hospedamos en este bonito hotel decorado estilo Virginia , muy agradable y sobretodo con buena ubicación un hotel de 40 habitaciones .muy acogedor lo recomendamos ,sus desayunos muy buenos y buen servicio. Una suite muy amplia con una sala que da amplitud a la habitacion El transporte de cortesía que rrecorre la calle King pasa a media cuadra ,una zona hermosa para recorrer ,visitar y llegar al potomac al final de la calle Muchos restaurantes boutiques galerías.

  Warm, Inviting and Beautiful

  We were so delighted with our stay at the Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria, Va. The hotel looks like a grand southern home from the outside . . . then once inside . . . so cozy and beautifully appointed. It felt like we were visiting family. Loved it !!! Monique greeted us pleasantly at our late arrival and couldnt be nicer. She was so warm and helpful. She immediately served us glasses of wine which we sipped in the sitting room by the fireplace and the elegant Christmas tree. Our room was neat as a pin and newly renovated. The gentleman at the front desk in the morning was very helpful and courteous. We look forward to coming back when we can spend some time in the town.

  Great getaway spot near Old Town

  We had a fantastic stay at the Morrison House - the manager (Angelouise?) was very nice and accommodating. Charming property, very clean, excellent wine hour in the lobby with a fire in the fireplace and a delicious selection of wrapped breakfasts, even though the restaurant is closed during COVID. The inn is within easy walking distance to the pier and excellent restaurants and boutiques - the rooms are comfortable, clean, and airy. Will definitely go there again for a weekend getaway.

  Employees Make the Difference

  My first night at the Morrison House was during the recent melee in downtown DC, which made my stay somewhat different than my later stays, as you can imagine. There was a lot of commotion, which is far different than my later stays where an atmosphere of quiet elegance has been the norm. With all that was happening, there was one person seemingly doing it all. Her name was Aryelle and she remained completely calm in the midst of the activity, checking people in and making sure that everything operated as smoothly as possible considering the circumstances. Because of her I have come back to the Morrison House a few times while home remodeling is occuring at my house, and have continually been impressed by the way she does her job. The rooms are nice and the lobby area is a jewel to lounge in beside the fire, but at a hotel you can only interact with one person at a time, and when that person is Aryelle, it is always a pleasure. Autograph is lucky to have her.

  Take your ear plugs

  OK- Here we go! * Been a Marriott Titanium elite member for a long time- very loyal to the Marriott brand. *This was a Sat nite stay- hotels have a different character on the weekends> --- The good: - The lady on the front desk, also she was the bartender and did the valet parking- Very upbeat and an excellent example of a welcoming employee --- Location is within 1/2 block of King St which has some 10 restaurants per block all up and down the street. Plenty of places to dine. The Morrison House has closed their dining room. --- On this Sat they had free wine for a couple hours for their guests. --- The room was very nice with a comfortable bed on the 5th floor --- The walk- in shower was excellent- thanks for no bathtub!! * The not so good --- The greeter/doorman was hiding behind the door- you pull up in the ally and unless you know where to go, the hunt begins.- You climb the steps- about 10 or so, check in, go get you own luggage and cart it too your room- NOT UP TO AUTOGRAPH STANDARDS- AND I READ THIS PROBLEM GOING BACK TO 2018.- Fix this! --- You are in the center of Alexandria- the room windows are not soundproof and you can expect to be awaken by the emergency vehicle noises- probably a couple times a nite --- Remember this is a weekend- So you will have fellow travelers who like to stay out late and adjust their voice volume to match their beverage intake. They will also wake you a couple times in the evening- The room door isn't soundproof and has about a 2-3 inch gap between the carpet and the door- Lets in the noise. Also the automatic door closers slam the doors unless the guest helps reduce the SLAM So, next time in to Alexandria will stay at another Marriott property.
