    Manager let it down

We booked a room here while in town for a funeral. The room itself was fine, nothing fancy but for the price I really couldnt complain. There was Foxtel and the beds were very comfortable. However, each encounter I had with the manager was awful. I found him to be very blunt and rude over the phone both times I spoke with him and in person he wasnt much better. Customer service skills are so important and this man had very little to offer in that department.

    Business As Usual

I travelled there twice in October. The rooms are always clean and the staff efficient and helpful. Both times I have been able to check in late. So nice to slip in to a comfortable bed. The view of Mt Warning is great in the morning too!

Worst customer service ever DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER STAYING AT THIS MOTEL

I, like many other reviewers of this motel found the owner/manager (John) to be probably the rudest individual I have ever come across and unfortunately his wife seems no better. From the time I made our initial booking via email ( group booking for 18 people a substantial booking I would assume for a small country motel) as I received no confirmation after 2 days I rang the motel and got onto John who answered the phone reception after clarifying I had called the correct establishment he laughed off that he hadnt received my email and that it had probably gone into junk or he had deleted it. I confirmed I had the correct email address and he assured me he would look out for it how very generous of him, going out of his way to accept our business. I shouldve realised at this point it was best to book elsewhere oh how I wish I did!! This bad start and rude behaviour continued through every piece of phone and email correspondence. I was always made to feel like I was bothering him and that he was way too busy to bother assisting with any of my enquiries (which were generally based on him never replying to my email). On arrival myself and all my guests were met with a gruff and rude reception from our not so friendly host. No welcome and no information given. John even called me at 11.45 (check in was 2pm which he very clearly told me on a number of occasions) to ask if my final room was arriving because he wanted to sell her room!! Location suited us for the races, the rooms were comfortable and spacious, very dated and generally not well maintained. Not the cleanest (one of my guests found a false nail and a chip packet on her floor near the bed on arrival!!) and certainly over priced for the product provided. After my party attended the races we gathered in the bbq area with some other guests from the motel around 6.30pm we were happily listening to music and having a few drinks and pizza for dinner when at around 8.30 Johns wife(?) appeared at the top of the stairs yelling at us hysterically that it wasnt a nightclub and people were trying to sleep and she was going to call the police. This was the first we knew of disturbing anyone. We had no previous warning and we thought we had most of the guests from that area at our table and again if she had just come down and asked us to turn the music down/off, we wouldve had no problem doing so. Whilst we were discussing where to move onto (no more than 2 minutes later) John comes bowling out yelling and carrying on and telling us If youse dont like it you can F Off!!) Charming language to use on paying guests including children. (John I do hope you have this on your CCTV footage WITH SOUND not really sure you can deny this one like you did the last seems to be habitual behaviour of yours to tell your guests to F OFF! I really dont know how you still are in business. My mother-in-law (who was also a guest) and I have a combined total of 70 years in hospitality and in all that time we have never heard a worker, let alone a manager/owner address guests in such a despicable manner. Having wrecked our evening, half our guests called it a night and a few went back to one of the rooms (as far down the end away from the owners residence and other rooms as possible) and the balcony off there for a few more drinks with no music. Clearly their talking was too loud as our friendly host decided it was time to call the police at 10.00pm. What a waste of time for the local constabulary who Im sure had better things to do on a Saturday night. John I await your defensive, refute of a reply, but I am sure people will make their own judgement especially with all the other comments on this site with similar experiences to mine. I really dont think hospitality is for you. We would certainly never be staying there again and will make sure everyone we know never does either. I will also be looking further into where I can report your attitude and customer service (or lack there of) as I hope this review and whatever else I can do will save others suffering the same fate we did. A host of any kind of accommodation establishment can really make or break your stay. You and your wife certainly ruined our weekend and I hope you both either change your attitude and service levels from the initial enquiry through until guests stay onsite (you did not even acknowledge guests when they returned keys on departure) or get out of the game all together and let someone who has some PR skills and a bit of personality run what could be a great little business.

    Great stay clean rooms

I stayed here 22nd and 23rd January 2020 on our second night there was a loud group staying at the motel parting out the back screaming and loud music blasting which made the stay less enjoyable..  however the owners did try and defuse the party. I heard them multiple times ask the group to be quiet. The group could be heard clear as day from my room saying they wanted a "crack at the owner and would love to take him on" i felt fearful for the owners and disgusted by the behaviour of these patrons. I was afraid to leave my room. I was glad when the police arrived and they finally shut up. The motel has a great view of Mount warning and I couldn't fault the cleanliness. The motel staff were friendly and very apologetic about the noisy patrons the next morning when we checked out We really enjoyed our first night here- before the rude clowns arrived.

    Recreation

Lovely clean rooms, close to city centre and all facilities. However if you are a little old and need two separate beds, you need to climb two flights of stairs. Also inadequate off street parking. Otherwise quite good
