  Choose another place, there's quite a few in the area.

  First the good news, WiFi was fast and free. Now the bad. I did not enjoy this place. It was cheap but didn't live up to the advertising. This is what sold me on the place: "Nine Place Sukhumvit 81 is situated in Bangkok and offers free Wi-Fi. It is set amongst a range of popular eateries and is within a five-minute walk of On Nut BTS Skytrain Station. There are a variety of facilities available to those staying at Nine Place, such as a laundry service, a dry cleaning service and laundry facilities. Additional services include a wake-up service. Each modern room at the hotel provides wireless internet access, a mini bar and a private bathroom, as well as all the essentials required for an enjoyable stay. A telephone, cable/satellite channels and a shower are also provided. Those staying at Nine Place Sukhumvit 81 can relax at the in-house bar, suitably based for socialising in the evening." Oh where to start... There is no laundry or dry cleaning service. There is a coin operated washing machine outside the entrance to the place. There is no mini-bar just a small fridge in the room. And the worst thing NO IN HOUSE BAR. That was the main reason I picked this place. Though it would be fun, denied. There were stains/spills on the walls and water damage on the ceiling with hanging paint coming down. One window didn't have curtains so when the sun comes up so do you. There was no hot water in the room as the electric heater wasn't working. I told the staff when I discovered it and a day later someone came to look at it. Not fix it, just check it out. I booked for a week but am checking out early as I just don't like it.

  Wouldn't stay here again

  The room was a decent size, however there was construction across my room and a new hotel was being built only a few meters outside the balcony, so you could see workers going up and down the stairs which provided for no light or privacy in the room really. Also, we stayed here for only 3 nights on our way back home. We put up the do not disturb sign on our door for both two days and still the clean up service walked in and cleaned our room - again blatantly disrespecting our wish for privacy. On our final night - the internet pass stopped working around 10 pm and when I tried to find someone downstairs the office was closed and we were left without any internet to arrange for our pick=up plans for when we arrive back home - lots of frustration. Finally, the mattress was just absolutely horrible, had horrible back pain here after 3 nights. So ,definitely would not recommend the place. The only good thing was that the 7/11 was right across the street, the room was a decent size and it was clean.

  Recommended place for bacpacker.. 2 minutes from Phra Khanong BTS

  Recommended for those who are backpacker and need a convinient and clean place to stay with a low budget.. it just 2 minutes walks from BTS phra Kanong.. 1 station from ekkamai.. 250m from Gateway.. Good service from the owner.. Thanks alot.. ..

  Worst experience ever

  for starters, my booking was confirmed but no room was available and I only found out on arrival after a 9 hour bus ride!!!! I had a Thai number listed with my booking and my email but yet they did'nt think of contacting me. so I was told to go to this another motel of theirs which was abolutely a nightmare. I kept my luggage on my bed and slept on the other side. next day stayed at a friends place and checked out without spending a minute more in that place. much better places available for smae price or a little above

  Diamond in the rough

  My recent stay at Nine Place Sukhumvit 81 in Bangkok Thailand was an unexpected and pleasant experience. Making reservations at a hotel half way around the world can be a difficult and uneasy experience, never really knowing if your choices are the best ones. Nine Place was by far the best choice I could have made. The room was pleasant,clean,quiet and very enjoyable to stay in. The beds are very large and very comfortable,with a private bathroom, air conditioning and refrigerator the room easily competes with rooms costing ten times what Nine Place costs and wins. The hotel is tucked away in a very good neighborhood located in an extremely convenient area close to all major transportation venues. In my travels around the world my hope would be that I could find more hotels with the same standards of excellence as nine place
