  Great time

  Returned from a relaxing week, Dimitri and his family were fantastic. Made you feel very welcome. Dimitri does a bbq night. Food was fantastic. Pool big and quiet. Situated central to all amenities, would definitely return again.

  Autumn holiday in Acharavi

  It's been almost 20 years since I holidayed in Acharavi. It's my favourite town on Corfu. My partner and me booked our holiday through Thomas Cook, although we flew Ryan Air. We booked a fortnight in mid-September to get good weather and avoid the summer crowds. The Nireas Studio Apartment assigned to us was quiet and peaceful. Utilitarian but comfortable. We were delightfully entertained by the hotel cats, one of whom had four kittens. We sailed from Kassiopi to Corfu Town, and visited the Monestary at Paleokristizza. Lovely places. The weather was just right. We both got modest suntans and numerous Mosquito bites. I counted 81, despite Deet spray! The bees also compete for your dinner! It's a pleasure to swim in the sea when it's calm. You can walk out a long way and sea fishes swimming around your feet. And the indigo colour of the Ionian Sea reflects the deep blue skies. We dined in the many Tavernas along the long Strand watching the sunsets. Our studio apartment was only a few minutes walk to the seafront. We were very sad to say farewell to this island demi-paradise. Our departure coincided with the demise of Thomas Cook, holidaymakers needing to be repatriated by the CAA. Corfu airport is too small to cope with so many people and our Ryan Air flight got caught up in the imbroglio. But no matter, we had an uneventful flight and were back in Liverpool mid-afternoon.   Dont waste your money

  Rude staff, dirty room, bathroom door had been punched. The floor was boiling hot all day due to pipes under the floor. Balcony was so narrow you could not sit 2 people at a table and it was also outside someone else's bathroom with a view of the road and parked cars despite paying extra for a pool or garden view. Dirty fridge and freezer. No pool,no sunbeds yet others in the area are open. No hand sanitiser anywhere to be seen as there is in many other places we have visited. not a nice place to stay. There are plenty of other nice places to stay in the locality. We moved out as soon as we could which was after 2 nights of a 17 night stay in corfu.

  Very basic and quite run down but great location

  Just returned from a 2 week holiday to Nireas. Our original hotel was closed for the summer so "on the beach" found us this replacement making out it was an upgrade so we accepted. It couldn't have been further from the truth! We had a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment with very noisy neighbours upstairs. Very drab looking and dated decor but ok for a base (even though the crack in the wall got bigger and bigger over the 2 weeks which was very worrying) Very hard beds,patio doors that only opened with brutal force, a toilet that didn't flush (however my husband fixed it and no maid service only towels/sheets and binbags left outside so i had to clean and change beds and bins myself! Oh and an Olympic size swimming pool with no water in it lol (on the beach failed to tell us this to be fair to Nireas) No pool bar and no reception apart from a hour or so on a Monday. However dispite all that we just got on with our holiday and had a really good time. Acharavi is a lovely place with lots of lovely restaurants and a lovely pebbled beach with free sunbeds. We even managed to find another pool to use so the kids were happy. I won't go back to Nireas again but Acharavi is beautiful and we had a great holiday.

  Neglected

  We felt that this accommodation was neglected. The pros, the air conditioning worked, the fridge worked and there was hot water. The cons, the interior was like an exterior with those funny lights with metal surrounds to protect them from being broken. the microwave had a hole in the door, we didn't use, but suspect it may have been dangerous. spot lamp hanging from socket in the bathroom. bathroom very grubby we had to buy bleach from the supermarket and clean to make it tolerable. only had cleaner twice in a week, as a result the bathroom bin not emptied, disgusting! had to buy toilet rolls as not replaced. towels changed once, one of the towels had a burn hole in it, all were frayed and thin, the bed covers (not sheets) were definitely not cleaned from a previous occupier. Wi-Fi was intermittent at best. the reception is only manned between 12:00-17:00. if you arrive out of those hours no chance of getting air con, safe or anything else. pool was quiet, no surprise, didn't see anyone cleaning it but only used it once. the best thing about the holiday was that we only stayed a week!! would not go again.
