  Relaxing experience & friendly staff!

  It was a great pleasure and a very relaxing experience to stay at Paco Residence. The hotel is placed in a very quiet area, the rooms are spacious and well organized. The hotel has two pools, a park and a barbecue area. The staff is very kind and helpful and the welcome was friendly.

  Great place for relaxation!

  I loved this hotel. It has beautiful grounds. The pools are thermal and very clean and they even have a sauna. It's built out of a cave of rock. The room was spacious with everything I needed, a small kitchenette with all the utensils. The bathroom was big.

  Not as advertised

  Positives: Beautiful, clean grounds and pools. Soft linens. Negatives: Could never get a hold of any staff - I tried to arrange a transfer from the port for two days, no one ever answered. Not that it matters, evidently their "transfer" is to call you a cab. The pool temperature was much colder than advertised, only one (the smallest) was heated to a comfortable temperature. Wifi was virtually useless - it dropped constantly. Not that you should be playing on the internet much while on vacation, but sometimes it's needed to research restaurants and activities. The dishes were filthy, encrusted in food. No soap is given to clean the dishes! There are no cafes in walking distance - a vending machine that is rather expensive offers prepackaged cornettos, beer and coffee but it's expensive and the coffee was so bad I could not drink it. I get migraines when I don't have my morning coffee and I still chose not to drink it because it was that bad! The exterior of the hotel looks luxurious but the interior rooms are in need of an update. As an example, our private back porch (which was surprisingly shared with the room next door, as I discovered when nursing my baby and the man in the room next door came out and said hello) had a nearly collapsed plastic table and torn plastic tablecloth. Finally the walking times were not as advertised. This place is very high up on a very steep, winding road - a walk to the beach requires that you are very fit. My husband is a Marine Infantry officer and came back from a trip to the market rather winded. We were so disappointed that we tried to arrange a new hotel for the next day, but the hotel would not provide us credit for the room. We would have tried to fix these problems with the hotel directly (we worked through hotels.com) but we could never find the staff! Their English is also very basic, I'm thankful I speak some Italian or else our problems would have been much worse.

  Beautiful

  What a trip! Paco obviously loves his residence, and rightly so. He's also in love with the island and so are we now. Great communications, amazingly relaxing accommodation, nice and easy for local transport to other towns. Kitchen was sufficient for self catering. Balcony was huge with incredible sea views. Bed nice and comfortable. We'd love to visit again! It is up a hill, but it's only 7 or 8 mins at a slow pace from the main road (and only 5 minutes walking down!). That has the advantage of meaning basically zero traffic noise which adds to the experience. If you're not mobile, you'd probably need a car, but it's not a problem for anyone with average ability, and there are plenty of taxis on the island if needed. The pools and sauna were well kept, clean, and naturally heated. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas around. Good attention has also been paid to the lush gardens, with a variety of palms and other greenery. Missing it already

  Great location!

  I stayed here for 10 days with the large family of my Italian partner; they have been staying here for a couple of weeks in the summer for the past eight years. Despite the fact that things are by no means perfect here they continue to come back because (1) the location is perfect, close to the beach, to Poseidon Terme, and to many food and visiting options, and (2) the facilities, while not fancy, are prefect for a mixture of self-catering and eating out, and (3) the pool is very nice. It may be true that not enough is spent on maintenance or providing everything you might need in every room, but someone on the staff will certainly try their best to satisfy any reasonable need or request. I found the place charming, relaxing, and just what the doctor ordered; I would come back here any time and look forward to doing so...
