An ecellent hotel in the heart of SpolettoHaving visited Spoletto last year and stayed at the "wrong" hotel this year we chose Palazzo Dragoni. A family run hotel close to the Duomo. The location is excellent. We recevied a warm welcome from the family and the accommodation and superb breakfast cannot be faulted.

A wonderful hotel in SpoletoPalazzo Dragoni is true class. An ancient palazzo with glorious views & great breakfasts, four poster beds & a breathtaking guest list in each room. Gerard Depardieu, Anthony Quinn, & Michail Baryshnikov have all stayed in the same room. We loved it here.

Great hotel in excellent locationWe spent three very pleasant nights here. Huge high-ceilinged rooms in this old palazzo, very friendly and helpful owners. The breakfast buffet was very extensive with many choices including delicious homemade breads and jams. The hotel is near the Duomo and an easy walk to all Spoleto sights and restaurants. Some street noise but nothing terrible unless you go to bed very early.

Fantastic hotelEverything about the Palazzo Dragoni was wonderful! Roberto is a very good concierge who attends to guests needs in an efficient manner. Breakfast is served in a lovely room with spectacular views. Lovely wide ranging fresh breakfast foods. Good table service. Our bedroom was spacious and had lovely views over the historic town of Spoleto. The building is historic and furnished appropriately. Roberto provided very good recommendations for dinner bookings and made the reservations for us. We would love to return to this hotel!

Top HotelFabulous rooms extraordinary views over the valley from the room and balcony. The breakfast is a trip highlight. Fresh fruits, excellent yoghurt, cereals, freshly made eggs. The homemade pastry tastes better than it looks. The hotel is centrally located in Spoleto. We stayed for 12 days, just returned, stayed last year as well. Cant say enough good things about the wonderful couple who run the palazzo.

A perfect slice of UmbriaThe basics: rooms are large, clean, quiet, good bathrooms, WiFi is excellent, location could not be more central and the proprietors are hugely welcoming and helpful. But that is only half the story. The real delight of staying in this hotel is the feeling of total immersion in deepest Umbria which we felt, quite difficult to recover from after leaving. It is a 16th century palazzo round the corner from the Duomo, on the junction of two nearly traffic-free paved alleyways. The rooms have high ceilings, stone floors, shutters on the windows. We were not in one of the rooms with views over the valley, but looked out onto the junction and the ancient wall beyond, with Italian voices drifting in from the street, and we loved the feel of being part of, rather than isolated from, the community. The proprietors, like most of the restaurants and shops in Spoleto, speak limited English. indeed the cuisine is the most local I can remember in a town. Breakfasts are wonderful, but dont expect bacon or hash browns; think more sublime homemade jams, porcini frittata and deep-fried sage leaves; eaten in a room with a quite magnificent view and served by delightful waitresses, overseen closely by the proprietress. We loved both Spoleto and Palazzo Dragoni.

What an example of Italian hospitalityA very traditional hotel perfectly located in the very center of Spoleto. Everything is "old school" at its best: the old furniture and the pictures of celebrity guests of the past, the decoration with fresh flowers, the sumptuous breakfast and the "Signora" who welcomes all the guest in the breakfast room. But our special experience was that we left our passports at the reception for registration. 15 min later, the distinguished owner stood in front of our room, offering us an ice bucket with a bottle of Prosecco, two glasses and a little booklet with poems. Why? Because he had seen on the passport of my wife that it was her birthday that day. What an example of style and generosity!

An unforgettable ExperienceThe palazzo is steeped in history and flawlessly run by Sr Roberta and his charming wife. Rooms were in traditional classic appearance. You could conjure up appearances of dragons though the palazzo had none and named after the Dragoni family ! The highlight of our stay was the daily breakfasts lovingly prepared under Mrs Robertss stewardship. Charming fresh flowers , produce from her garden and all requests were promptly met . Location was central steps away from the town Centre. Walked to all the sites including the famous cathedral outside which we witnessed a concert while the annual Spoletto classical music was in progress . Sr. Roberto was most helpful and also arranged the long distance pickup from Perugia airport . We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at this romantic hotel .
