Also serves as Dantes 4th circle of Hell

Where to begin on this one.... Paper thin walls and noisy; listened to guest renovating their room for a solid 3 hours (as of writing this review) No safe, no robes, no peep hole on door. A good walk to town (not that there is much there)... about a mile one way. Front desk people who dont really care about serving guests nor does it seem that they have an idea of who is staying in there hotel. Assured me no one was above me or next to me... so I guess it must be ghosts acting unruly No English channels on tv.. not even bbc or cnn international. Food... offer a daily buffet which is 18 euro... and it shows. Food looked old and sad just like the hotel itself. Ordered pasta arrabiata and got ketchup and over cooked noodles in soup. Had gin and tonic with dinner but I guess the two I had depleted all the gin in the house.. mind blown. But you could go shopping in the front lobby for zirconia opal jewelry... what a blast! The best thing about this hotel is when I see it in my rear view window.

    Amazing experience

I had read previous reviews of the hotel and was expecting great things and i must say i wasn't disappointed. From first arrival and the wonderful vista from the perfect position of the Hotel on the hill top everything just got better, the room was large, modern and clean with a huge bathroom, the breakfast is a fantastic selection of local/Sachen delicacies and much more, dinner was buffet style with something tasty for everyone. All in all a great 2 night experience i shall remember

A very good choice when visiting Seiffen/Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge)!

We visited in december, so the hotel was beautifully decorated. The building is old, but well maintained and it has the typical Ore Mountains style. There is a big, free parking lot. You can walk from the hotel to the village, with its many folk art shops. Our room was at the 2nd (= highest) floor and had a beautiful view on the sloping hills. The other side of the hotel looks over the entrace, at the village The room was small, but clean, with a very nice (refurbished) bathroom. We found the bed ok: matrass was a bit soft, pillows with downfilling too thin. But you can ask for extra pillows. Personnel is very friendly; the hotel manager extremely helpful with all kinds of information and tips. Breakfast buffet is very good, but starts only at 08.00 h (till 10.00), which we found a bit late, if you have a full programm ahead of you.

    Fine hotel

This hotel is clean, the room we had was rather small but had all the comfort we needed. Staff is well-trained, very helpful, and also very friendly. Breakfast had wide variety, dinner was also perfect. Hotel location is interesting when visiting Sachsen (Dresden, Sachserisch Schweiz, ...) or Bohemia (only 5 km of border).

Nice location, bad service, average food but willing manager

The only reason that I don't give 2 stars is that the manager tried to solve our issues on the second day.. But from the start. Very unfriendly receptionist who couldn't be bothered to leave a chat on a bar table to check us in. Very bothered about every reasonable request we had - lunch in a 4 star hotel (there is no food at lunch time unless the hotel is booked out, then there is a snack option), towels for my son (there were only towels for the adults) and check-in at 1:30 pm (the hotel was pretty empty, see lunch option). The hotel room was light (too light morning and evening as there are only very thin curtains to darken the window) and clean. There was free internet which was not fast which might be an issue when the hotel is full. We ordered the milk shake special at the bar in the afternoon and experienced another bad service as the waiter asked me to choose one flavour as 3 different flavours are too much work. Dinner was really bad. We had baked potatoes which were old and tasted off. I had to send it back and was offered to order something else but my son needed to go to bed and so they refunded it but I had no dinner. The beds turned out to be awfully soft and the pillows were so flat that we barely could sleep. The manager told me the mattresses were new and I could have asked for more pillows. Fair enough but I didn't want to deal with that unfriendly receptionist again. We intended to stay for two nights but decided to leave after one due to all the issues as with a small child we were not as flexible. We went for breakfast which was fine and the lady working in the restaurant this morning was very friendly and helpful. There was a great selection of food but still to say that the few fresh fruits and veggetables offered were not as fresh as they should be, probably because they are cut up and arranged many hours before. At reception there was another receptionist who was much friendlier and the manager from the back office became involved straight away.We discussed all the issues and he first didn't want to believe it and told me about personal taste and hurt feelings but having traveled a lot, this was not true at all and he eventually acknowledged that and apologised for the bad experience we had. He genuinely wanted to solve our issue and wished we could stay, so they could do better but we already had made our decision and I also had to leave for some business appointments. They then refunded the remaining night and unused inclusions pretty generously and I left with the managers business card and the offer to contact him directly if we decide to come for another stay. This is the reason why I give 3 stars as I hope this was just an exception although I heard otherwise when I talked to people from the region.
