Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundingsWe stayed here for one night having a double room and one single room.(Two single beds) We were on the second floor. (No lift). We were on a World Walks self guided tour. The rooms were very pleasant being of a reasonable size. The outlook from the window was of beautiful lawns and trees. The bathroom was modern with everything functional. There was no bar fridge in the room. The staff were very friendly and efficient and at reception spoke quite good English. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent as was the breakfast with a varied buffet offering both hot and cold options with nice bread and cakes as well as meat, cheeses, vegetables, cereals and fruit A coffee machine provided a good selection of coffees. This is a very nice hotel in beautiful surroundings in which to enjoy your stay and have very appetising meals.

Good location, bad dinner, good breakfast and cheapLocation was really good for hiking to the rocks. Beautifull scenery. Staff wasn t really helpfull... when we arrived we asked about hiking trails and they made us buy map for information while all the information was outside on the boards! Hotel is outdated but iT has its charms. Bathroom was really really small. Heater didnt Work proparly ( see photo) but was ok for us! Dinner was bad. Goulash as described on the menu was meat minus all the rest ( no bacon, no mushrooms, no onion ( only fried). My husband had chicken and iT tasted like freezer. We orderd dessert to have Some flavor and YES the appelstrudel was GREAT ! One is enough for 2! Breakfast was good, enough. As we were the only ones staying there , there was no buffet but everything was set on the table and iT was all fine!

Absolutely horrible serviceWith a sad heart I have to recommend not to ever go to this restaurant. We have a cottage near by and try to support all local businesses but after many tries this year I can not recommend this place at all. In previous years the service would get better the more we visited (we come every summer) but this year it seemed as the opposite. The service was beyond rude and seemed to us as soon as we showed up they were annoyed we were there. The last straw was while taking family to dinner and wanting to pay with a credit card the waiters almost thrown the receipt at us and told us by. Without looking back. Left us baffled and not ever wanting to go back. Ever.

Basic accommodation but very friendly staffSpent a night here after visiting the Prachov rocks (the hotel is walking distance from there). This dog-friendly hotel is set amidst a lovely little park and has ample outdoor seating to soak up some sunshine. In contrast, rooms are very basic and our double room was definitely London-sized (i.e. it was very small) and we struggled somewhat being tall and having two large suitcases. No frills here, i.e. no hot drinks or fancy little toiletries though they did provide shower gel and soap. Unusual bathroom floor made from actual pebbles. Hot water was also only available during set hours. It was pretty clean, however. It was very quiet at night and we did sleep well though the room was a bit stuffy and the bedding had seen better days. The restaurant was a large and somewhat faded affair. Food here was rather hit and miss. My goulash with Bohemian dumplings really wasn't great but the shopska salad (chopped veg with white cheese) was pretty tasty. The breakfast buffet also was fairly basic (some bread, cheese, meats, yogurts etc) but their coffee machine was quite sophisticated. Staff here were great though, both in the restaurant and at reception. Both English and German was spoken and they were super friendly and helpful. All in all a bit of a mixed bag. If you don't mind no-frills rooms it's worth considering for a stay near Prachov rocks.

Nature all aroundThe hotel is dating back it's start to 1933,it keeps in the ground floor still some hints of it's atmosphere. The rooms clean but rather small, refurbished in a very simple way. But the location is wonderful, only 90 km out of Prague. We did not spend too much time inside when there are so many natural and architectural sightseeing s all around! The pleasant and helpful staff makes the stay very comfortable.
