  Very comfortable, relaxing pousada!

  Set amongst tranquil tropical gardens, Pousada Boa Vista is a great choice if you're looking for comfort and space, away from the hustle and bustle of busy Barreirinhas. Staff from the pousada came to collect us from town and drove us to the property, which we were impressed by! The food was excellent and reasonably priced - we ate many lunches and dinners here, instead of travelling into town. Our room had a fridge, air conditioning and plenty of space. There were plenty of places to relax around the pousada, including hammocks, couches, tables and of course, by the pool, which was really clean. If you're up for the ten minute walk, you can wander to the river Preguiça, which has a bar, restaurant and places to swim, which is really lovely. Staff are happy to organise any tours you like to Lençóis Maranhenses too. If you need to go to Barreirinhas, it is too far to walk - but a mototaxi is only R$5 each, so that's fine. The staff don't speak English either, so keep that in mind. Also, bring your insect spray - there were lots of bugs at night here, which is hard to avoid in Brazil I guess! The wifi wasn't great here either, quite unreliable. Also, this is a family friendly pousada, so expect to noisy children from time to time. :) All in all, I recommend this place!

  A great stay...

  The staff at the pousada were great and so attentive, and couldn't do enough to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The front of house staff always referring to me by name. All day trips were organised by Guerlin (spelling?) who really looked after me. The room accommodated three so was very spacious for one. It was clean with a comfortable bed. The pousada is 4km from the town, which suited me perfectly as it was carnaval during my stay so I wanted to avoid the noise in centro. Good food is available at the pousada but some restaurants will arrange to pick you up and drop you off again. Two suggestions would be to extend/improve the wifi as everyone now relies on it. Currently it's only available in the communal area, and is slow when everyone is checking Facebook over breakfast. Also, find a new home for the cockerel. That little bugger started screaming outside my bathroom window at 5.30am every morning!! Overall, very comfortable and friendly and I would highly recommend the place.

  The perfect pousada

  Boa Vista Pousada is a perfect pousada - dedicated and friendly hostess and staff, good sized, very comfortable and clean private rooms with en-suite and A/C, beautiful & local décor, filling and tasty breakfasts, restaurant with a good choice of tasty and fresh food, lush palm trees surrounding the property, silent at night (except for the crickets and birds!), wifi at the main pousada area, travel agency to help with day trips in the local area...the list is endless. Some people may say the pousada is "out of town", but everything is well spread out in this remote place. The owner will arrange for you to be lifted and laid wherever, so it is really not a problem. This is a perfect place to stay while visiting the magnificent Lencois Maranheses and surrounding area - I cannot recommend it highly enough. You must experience the organised day trips while you are here - really worth the travel to get here. I stayed with my husband and a close friend, and we had a completely perfect weekend travelling around and coming back to relax at the pousada at night.

  Needs some love!

  Estuvimos alojados dos días en esta posada y la experiencia fue buena pero creemos que si se mejoraran algunos detalles, sería un sitio excelente. Primero estuvimos alojados en una de las primeras habitaciones y realmente necesitan una restauración. Pedimos el cambio a las habitaciones nuevas y nuestra impresión cambió completamente. Muy acogedora. Las instalaciones están bien decoradas pero algunos remates están sin cuidar o sin mantener. Needs some love

  The best place to be in Barreirinhas

  located a 4 km from the center of the city this pousada provides a beautiful experience,with a lot of vegetation,around the place,with first class roomsvery nice fod in the restaurant located in the pousada,i really feel in home.
