You get what you pay fotThe apartments are OK but unfortunately both me and my friend have neck and back pain after sleeping in the extremely soft beds combined with very high pillows. Apartments are clean and all have balconies or a terrace. About a 5 minute walk from 'downtown'. Staff were very nice and helpful although they are only there a couple times a day. Pool was freezing and not very clean, but might have been because we were there during the low season. Considering what we paid we are pleased with our stay and the hotel standard.

SicilyWe're here at the moment ( family of 4 in a studio) it's clean , comfortable and although not super luxurious it fits our needs. The garden is immaculate and the pool is quiet and perfect for the children to play in. The reception is 200 meters down the road and the staff are really helpful and friendly. It's private and peaceful and the bread / cake van turns up every morning @ 8.30ish The resort is not a typical resort that British tourists would visit, although if I was in my 20's I would have loved coming here as there are beach nightclubs open until 4 am with a real party vibe. It's got a really nice atmosphere though and it's affordable, really good choice for Street food or upmarket restaurants and only an hour away from Mount Etna (60 in a hire car) The beach is big and 7 mins walk with showers to rinse sand off your feet and the sea is warm and turquoise. Everything is clean and authentic. We 100 % recommend this apartment for the affordability, location and comfort. Air conditioning isn't included in the price though (11 a day) and as it's 84 degrees before 9 am you do need it in July / August To round it off this apartment fits our needs as a budget family holiday in peak season. If you need a good clean base apartment and want to spend your money on going out and visiting different places then it's equally as perfect

Enjoyable comfortable stayGood points: - Great location, very close to resort seafront - Ground floor room (13) had very sunny seating area - Modern bathroom - Always room in the garden, despite some Europeans 'reserving' sunbeds with towell - Excellent pool - 10 minute walk from Recanata bus terminal - Air-con included but we hardly used it, relied on ceiling fan, ground floor room was cool Bad points - Cooking equipment basic, had to re-clean some of it before use - Some of the other guests noisy (late evening and early morning, not the fault of the accommodation) - Immediate vicinity walking to resort not looked after, bins overflowing etc. Overall I would recommend, and I would stay here again if we ever returned to Giardini

2 weeks holidayI spent 14 days in Villa Collina, Sicily. The place is like a recidence with with a sister hotel Villa Giardini in which you find the reception and staff. Villa Collina has about 20-30 apartments, some with terrace and others with balcony. We had a nice view towards Volcano Etna and the mountains.... all very nice - BUT the travel agency should have been more specific about the loud noises from the highway on one side of the hotel. Besides that theres a railroad (train) and another smaller way. The highway was quite noisy at all times. Morning - afternoon- evening and all through the night. The view to the highway was covered of high trees around the hotel but still loud. The place has a nice pool - and a small pool area with about 14 sun beds. Not always enough for the people who would like to get some sun... but actually most days we were only 4-8 people at the pool. The hotel has a nice little garden with benches to sit at under olive trees. Very nice and kept beautifully. Every morning at about 8 oclock a van with bread arrives in front of the hotel, and you can buy fresh bread, croissants and bread rolls for about 1. The cleaning is only once a week. The pipes in the sink smelled soooo bad... so it was a shame that we had to wait a week to get it cleaned. The apartment have small kitchen facilities. Refrigerator with tiny freezer. 2 x electric hob. Plates, knife, fork, spoon - only one teaspoon. A bread knife and some big spoons for serving. A lousy little crooked sauce pan and one big pot. A small electric kettle and a strainer and thats about it. We cooked three or four times, too difficult to really cook with so little equipment. I needed some bowls and perhaps some pots and pans in a slightly better quality. The beds were really good - not to hard and not to soft. I would call them firm. Better kitchen equipment, smelly sink in the bathroom and the loud highway was the bad thing. But beautify view and nice modern apartment.

Nice spacious RoomWe stayed with 2 adults and 2 teenage children and had plenty of space. All the amenities you need. Check in was a bit inconvenient, you had to check in at Residence Giardini (which was down the road) then drive up to Villa Collina, unload luggage then drive back to Residence Giardini to park your car. Hotel was approx.10 min walk to the main street where all the restaurants were. There are no places to eat close to hotel. We went in October and place was very quiet, most places closed for the season
