  Warm, Inviting Atmosphere and Terrific Location

  For travelers who want to experience the more serene delights of Cape May, one could hardly do better than a stay at Rhythm of the Sea. Located across from the Atlantic on Beach Avenue, the inn has a total of nine rooms, which along with the common areas are decorated in the Arts & Crafts style. The owners, Amy and Lulzim (who's also the chef) create a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. The breakfasts are varied and superbly prepared, there's an easy willingness to accommodate guest requests, and parking is ample and convenient. If I have a gripe, it's with the rooms themselves: while comfortable enough, they need to be refreshed and renovated while still maintaining their Arts & Crafts charm. It wouldn't be an inexpensive project, and perhaps one the new owners aren't just ready to tackle, especially after an abbreviated summer 2020, but, to my mind, it would elevate travelers' experience from Very Good to unequivocally Excellent.

  6th visit... we'll be back!

  This was our 6th visit to Rhythm of the Sea and we will definitely go again. Amy and Mara do a great job of making you feel comfortable and welcome. We were very happy to see that the new(ish) ownership is doing so well and that they are surviving the pandemic. The location of the B&B is great - it's not really close to the middle of Cape May so it's very quiet - but certainly close enough to walk. Plus, the ocean is right across the street!

  Off season weekend getaway

  This is an incredible place run by wonderful people. The space itself is an incredible mix of open space feel and they comfy. The atmosphere is very inviting and Amy and Mara really exemplify "hospitality"..genuinely friendly and accommodating but never in your face. This was our first visit and SURELY will not be our last.

  Home away from Home

  Best place to stay in Cape May. My husband and I only stay at Rhythm of the Sea when we go to Cape May. The rooms are as comfortable as our home the service is excellent and our Host Mara is professional, attentive and always there to answer your questions and to accommodate us to make our stay unforgettable. The food is great and there is always cookies and hot chocolate when we arrive. If you have not stayed at Rhythm of the Sea you are missing a real treat.   First of many visits - love this place!

  My husband and I had a funeral to attend in a nearby town and decided at the last minute to make a weekend of it in Cape May. We were also celebrating our wedding anniversary. We both love Cape May and have stayed at several hotels and inns over the years but Rhythm of the Sea might just be our new 'go to'. Rhythm is located on the northern side of town across the street from the beach. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach at night when it is quiet. The Inn is decorated simply but beautifully. There is a simple elegance to the decor. The rooms are inviting, super clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 6 which consists of a large bedroom with queen sized bed and large bathroom. The room was very quiet and we did not hear one noise during our stay. The only complaint I have about the room was that the bed is very firm and the alarm clock was set at 6am. We also would have liked to have a small fridge in the room. The Inn does supply a community fridge to hold drinks/food of the guests but it is located on the main floor. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling. Fresh made juices and jams are on the tables. Our first breakfast was French toast topped with a blueberry compote and sausage links. Our second breakfast consisted of yogurt, fruit and honey, egg cups with feta, sausage links and toast. Simple and good! There is plenty of space in the communal areas for social distancing. The furniture is very comfortable both inside and out. There is a pool table, gas fireplace, Keurig, hot water and fresh cookies daily. There are also bikes, beach chairs and towels for the guests to use and free off street parking. The location, in my opinion, is perfect. It's in the quieter area of Cape May but within walking distance of Washington Street Mall. We truly enjoyed our stay and are planning our next visit already!
