  Very crowded room, a tad shabby

  The motel is a bit shabby (worn indoor/outdoor carpeting on stairwells, scuff marks and dents on doors that need painting, bathroom exhaust fan that didn't work) but would have been a good enough value for us except that the room with two beds was rather small--so much so that one of the beds was touching the air conditioner (which, during an unusual heat wave, was unable to cool the room without running constantly.) I had no problems with the desk, which honored our reservation at the agreed upon price which we had pre-booked via the web. There aren't very many restaurants open for dinner nearby: the adjoining cafe is open only for lunch and breakfast, and one of two restaurants across the street closed around 8pm.

  Horrible in every way please don't go to this hotel

  I'm highly dissatisfied with this hotel and there service. The reason for there low price rooms is for one u have to pay to use the phone (that's in the room) u have to pay for ice, and the the blow dryer u have to pay for to use which hangs up on the wall, also when the housekeeper cleans u only get one towel and one rag. This hotel is rude as well its11:30pm at night and we have a time to smoke or we lose are room, what's next a 10:30 bedtime. They also have the worst WIFI AND TV SERVICE!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading this please get it spread throw the usa,

  Sunset Inn, Victorville CA - Very Satisfied

  On 10/29/14, lodging had been booked thru Hotwire.com for Ambassador Hotel, also in Victorville CA. Upon 12:20 am arrival, Ambassador was closed w/ windows covered, lights turned off, & NO VACANCY sign in window due to internal water damage. Hotel had contacted Hotwire, but they never contacted us & refused to do anything to help us locate another room - actually hanging up on us. After trying four other motels (who would not even come to their check-in window after mid-night), the Sunset Inn had one ground floor available room which we were very glad to have. Nothing fancy, but bedding was clean & highlight was the shower head (old fashioned type w/out water saver) & the little restaurant on site.. After traveling from 9 am eastcoast time, driving from LAX & finally getting somewhere to sleep at 1:00 am westcoast time, we were glad to see Sunset Inn. After multiple phone calls, Hotwire has finally credited us for the closed hotel (which was actually the result of a previous lousy Hotwire experience).

  Don't bother

  The rooms at this motel are very clean and comfortable and well furnished. They say breakfast is included but if you're lucky you'll get coffee and a donut from a counter at reception. Nowhere to sit so you take your breakfast back to your room. For the money they charge their guests should be offered a proper breakfast and a dining area. We went for our breakfast about midway through the breakfast period but there was no food. The guy hadn't bought the donuts. When he realised we weren't going to settle for that he ran across to a fast food restaurant while we waited for him to come back with our breakfast donuts. It's not good enough. The old man at reception was especially rude waving his arms in the air and snarling at us to close the door...despite the fact that we had our hands full trying to carry our breakfast back to our room. With angry gestures and more snarling he slammed the door shut after us. This is not the service that anyone should receive.

  SHOCKED Hotels.com and Oyo Hotel STOLE MY MONEY

  I prepaid hotels.com for 3 nights at Oyo Hotel in Victorville, CA. I arrived at 2:30am on Friday (Thursday night), and I was told by the check-in clerk there were no rooms even though I prepaid. This action left me stranded in the middle of the night with my 12 year old daughter with no place to stay. I considered sleeping in the car, but I finally found a place 30 minutes away. I understand I arrived late and hotels normally have to deal with no-shows, but since it wasn't just a reservation, OYO should have had a room for me when I got there no matter what time it was! I already paid for it! I understand things happen, and I would normally drop it here. However, they refused to return my money that I prepaid for the entire 3 nights which has really left me shocked. Hotels.com is who I paid and entrusted to provide me a room ESPECIALLY as I was arriving late. They should have apologized for my inconvenience and returned my money immediately. Instead, they told me to call Oyo Hotel and request a refund, which I did and they denied. Regardless of any first night no-show policy, they should at the very least return my money for the two nights I wasn't there! It has been a week, and I have called hotels.com 3 times, and the hotel twice. Neither company will return my money much less any consideration for my inconvenience. They said according to their "policy"; because it was past midnight, they cancelled my booking and kept ALL MY MONEY! That shouldn't be their policy, that should be illegal! When people say "it's our policy" means they have no good reason for doing what they are doing! I will never go to a Oyo hotel again, and all the other crappy reviews and pictures of roaches in the hotel make me glad I didn't stay there and wonder how they are even in business. On top of the deplorable conditions, they are also CRIMINALS and STOLE MY MONEY! Go somewhere else! Hotels.com is no better! I will never again use hotels.com for their mishandling of this; they clearly don't care about their customers, and they STOLE MY MONEY and are CRIMINALS too! Don't trust them with your money!
