  Outstanding hotel in Bergen

  This hotel was a welcome oasis after a long drive from Hamburg. From the minute I checked in till I left I was treated very special! The person who checked me in also spoke very good english which also was very helpful. My room which was a suite and looked out over the old town was just outstanding in every way! I also had the pleasure of dining in their restaurant which I also would highly recommend! All the people who worked here made me feel very welcome! I will be back in the near future!

  Delightful hotel

  4 friends stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Nice clean rooms and a very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast.

  Great place, excellent service, delicious food

  We stayed a couple of days in this cozy hotel. We totally enjoyed everything there - location, accommodation,the service and especially the restaurant where the food was extremelly delicious. I even had herring (I don't like it) two evenings in the row.... I highly reccommend this place! Will definetely be back.

  Its the small details that are important

  This is a very romantic looking hotel is in the quaint town of Bergen on the Island of Rügen. The pros are that its in the centre of Rugen, is very clean, has a great breakfast buffet, free non alcoholic beverages in the rooms and a nice private sauna for two. But there was a lack of attention to the finer details of things which make for a good hotel stay, and aren't really hard to do, for example there was only one pillow per person on the bed and they were both as flat as pancakes, I can sleep with that but my partner sure can't, he had two restless nights and a sore neck, the towels were small and unfluffy, there was no drinking water in the sauna, not even a chilled jar of water on a table or a bottle of water- generally the norm in a sauna and not a difficult courtesy, no luggage storage, after checking out we had an hour to kill before our train and wanted to leave our bags at the hotel, the lady at reception could only offer to put them to one side of the desk in broad view of anyone coming in and given she was running around like a mad hen busily tidying than keeping an eye on reception I didn't feel safe leaving them there. Finally we bought a package which included a 3 course dinner, surprisingly we weren't given a choice, nor even asked if there was anything we didn't eat or had allergies to, so too bad if you have allergies. I thought we might get at least a choice between two set menus but no, it was more of a 'you'll get what your given' approach, while the soup was amazing, and the service was expedient and attentive it meant my main course was covered in mushrooms, the one thing I don't eat, they also forgot to give us our free spirit beverage, so again a lack of attention to detail. In addition, as part of our package we had a bottle of sekt in our room, which was the smallest bottle I've seen in my life- a bit stingy given the affordability of alcohol on Germany and a fruit bowl which had some very nice fruit in it mixed with some very old inedible fruit. The other gripe I have is that we were meant to get bikes and a lunch packet as part of our package, when my partner raised this, in German as none of the staff I came across spoke any English, he was given an odd look and very vague unhelpful instructions about going to a bike shop and telling them we were from the hotel, granted it wasn't cycling weather, but it would have been nice to take the lunch packet with us on our travels. I was disappointed with this, if I had wanted to use bikes I expect the hotel to organise this as its part of the package not to send me off on a goose chase. Oh and finally the WiFi only worked for the first hour that we were there.
