bad ownerthere's no hotel that the old and ugly owner stayed in the restaurant serving for breakfast like in this hotel. we asked for a little ice for our morning's drink but she just refused. all staffs hardly spoke any English except for the reception, rooms are small but enough if you don't take too much luggage. It was truly dirty as i found a lot of hairs on the floor. The hotel's isolated and is far for the old quarter. it's boring and then can be dangerous at night while walking around as not a lot of lights and late opening shops around.

It's a heaterStayed for 1 night only during our trip. Though arriving Hanoi in the summer, not as we thought in advance, the hotel is actually very very hot. It looked quite old from outside, it's dark inside at the lobby and in the corridor. Every where in this hotel is hot, even in our room. Air conditioner didn't seem to work. The background music is nice, but the decoration is just more than terrible that made us confused for the hotel's style, not sure whether it's European or Asian. the wifi is free but low signal Breakfast was poor for the price we paid in compare to the other hotel, though it has a good view from the restaurant to the west lake area. Bath room is small with shower and the water was quite slow to get leaked off it's floor, would not come back this for the other time in Hanoi

Good for short stayThe hotel is neat and clean and good for short business stay. Wifi is free and good. The food including breakfast is lousy so I would instead suggest that you walk down to some really nice restaurants within 100 m from the hotel

Much better hotels for cheaperBooked on hotels.com, we arrived late as we had been travelling to Hanoi. The receptionist didn't welcome us and looked annoyed we had turned up so late!! He then told us he had no rooms!!!!! I explained I have booked and paid for this and he said "hotels.com have your money not us"!! After quite a bit of shouting in Vietnamese to his colleague they gave us a key to a room! We thought we were getting a superior room but it was a standard room with no windows, not great for £30!( the most we've paid after being in Vietnam for a month). The other quite rude receptionist the next morning told me it's my fault for turning up so late all the good rooms have gone!!!! Never experienced rudeness like it especially in Vietnam! The room however was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a shambles! Throughout the day I got ill and rather than move we booked another night. The room we got was much better, with a nice big bath. Location is close to the river but not much else. Thankfully we have found a lovely hotel where the staff are friendly and polite! Think this hotel need to send staff on a "customer service" course!

Rude staffThe location is not interesting. The rooms are very narrow and smelly. We went there on group of 30 - students, teachers and parents - for World's Scholar Cup Global Round. The air conditioners didn't work, so we had to move to other rooms. There was electric shock in 2 rooms, more than 2 times within a day. Some parents didn't eat breakfast at all as it was so awful. One morning children were a bit late for the contests and couldn't have time for breakfast. Two moms wanted to take 4bananas, but were yelled at by all the staff in the restaurant. We understood very well that it is not allowed to take breakfast food outside of the restaurant. Moms were worried the kids would be hungry and temporarily forgot the hotel's rule. But they shouldn't yell at us. We stayed there for 9 nights and they should know that many parents and kids didn't take breakfast all days. So bad and so rude to treat the customers like this. Don't recommend this hotel.
