  A home away from home

  Unawatuna has numerous places to stay. There are hotels there are Resorts and there are B & Bs. The reason for us to choose a B& B was that 5 of us intended to spent time together ,be near a Beach, yet be affordable and Sandaya's place seemed to fit the bill. It's walking distance from the main beach on the main Galle road yet away from the beach road which is crowded with hotels and restaurants. It's secluded on the temple hill road gives a small scenic view of the harbour and pagoda. The owners have built the place with a lot of thought ,wide kitchen with all appliances, dining room, a spacious patio and 3 large enough bedrooms. The furniture is functional and adequate. Raj and Janadara the father and son combo manage this place efficiently. To add to that the wife of Raj Sandaya on whose name the place is named is an excellent cook. Breakfast is lavish and unlimited. They satisfy any of your culinary tastes and habits. We loved the food so much that we preferred it to any of the food available in outside restaurants. This service is usually expected from the place owners but what they helped us was way beyond their call of duty. They made sure the food was made to our taste and liking, helped with our trips and outings, made trips to the market in their car for our work and helped with our cancelled air bookings. All this with no extra charge or any margin for referral charges. Our first B& B experience has been one to pleasantly recall for a lifetime. BEST PLACE IN UNAWATUNA TO STAY

  A quiet place to live

  Raj is taking care of you, he makes a very good and traditional breakfast. The villa is very big, air conditionning is necessary, but only in the room. 2 minutes walking to the beach. We travelled with Raj until Kandy during 4 days. Very nice guide he will recommend you places to see that are not in the guide. For dinner Raj find nice and priceless small restaurants.

  We had the most amazing time, the villa is equipped with all comforts and just a stone throw away from the beach and Unawatuna village. The host's family went the extra miles to makes us feel at home with delicious breakfast and helping us in all our needs during our stay. Would definitely come back

  Nice villa with lots of space

  Nice villa in the centre of Unawatuna and just a walk to the beach. We were in total 6 persons who stayed at Janadaras place but still had lots of space for each of us. Modern interior with a charming Sri-Lankan twist. Also very authentic breakfast which was amazing. We also got a guided 4 days tour by Janadaras father which we highly recommend :D

  A wonderful place for a family to stay with the kindest host

  Unawatuna is the most gorgeous beach and Sandy's Place is just superb. We ar a family of five and there are great sized rooms at the villa, it was lovely and clean and only a few minutes walk to the beach. The host is a wealth of knowledge and he aisles booked us airport transfers and our safari trip as well. It was such a great experience!
