  very nicely located hotel in vineyard, historic place

  The stay at Schloss Edesheim was enjoyable. We had two rooms. The Maximilian suite and a reglular double room. The regular room was clean and nice, but not very special, however the Maximilian suite is phantastic with own balcony and very large room. Breakfast room quite small, but if you are in a historic place, you have to adopt to the place and it is nice to see that the historic substance has been kept as much as possible.

  Historia y viñas

  Chateau del siglo XVI con suelos de madera en la mayoría de estancias y rodeado de viñas. Un ambiente de tranquilidad rodea el lugar. Se está muy bien. No tiene ascensor por lo que llevar maletas de peso al tercer piso debe ser tarea complicada. El desayuno es muy correcto y variado con las mesas muy bien presentadas La habitación con medidas correctas. La presión del agua de la ducha discreta. El wifi funciona muy bien La cama muy cómoda Mini bar completo en la habitación El restaurante para cenar muy bueno En general mi opinión es muy positiva por la calma y belleza del lugar

  Excellent stay

  Very spacious comfortable suite with huge balcony and an excellent atmosphere. Extraordinary bathroom, very comfortable bed, walk in closet! Very friendly staff! Location in the center of the village. Because it is an old historical building it has no elevator. If someone wishes to eat at their Gourmet-Restaurant, has to book it together with the booking of the Hotel, otherwise he probably don't get a table for dinner. Breakfast was okay, but not excellent as someone expects according to the rest of the facilities given. Fresh Omelett or more fresh fruits and sweets were missing.

  The beds were comfortable and the building and surrounding is relly beautiful. However, the rooms are rather old fashioned and the breakfast looked like they forgot to take in in during the night. Ham, cheese and vegetables were dry- and we enterd the breakfastroom at 08.40 on a sunday..

  Gorgeous location but disappointing experience

  Beautiful location in the picturesque village of Edesheim. When we arrived we were told that we were upgraded to a suite that felt more like a renovated bathroom than something you would find in a 4* hotel. The room was big but not in the castle, noisy and dark, and the walls, floors and bed are in urgent need of an update (the rest of the furniture is appropriate to the castle setting though). The restaurant was (sadly) fully booked that evening but we were pointed in the direction of a nearby restaurant where we were warmly received. Breakfast was satisfactory and the service more friendly than the staff behind the reception. We are not sure if the fact that we were 2 men travelling together played a role in this but we did not feel very welcome. For the money spent here you could easily spend the night at a more up to date hotel with modern service and have a meal + drinks too. Something to think about.
