  Hotel aceptable

  Muy bien ubicado. Para recorrer desde aquí todo paseando. Instalaciones aceptables. Servicio podría mejorar. Ofrecen Wifi pero cada vez hay que conectarse y con mucha dificultad. Llevo una hora sin poder conectarme. Posiblemente hay otros hoteles mejores también en el centro histórico. La ciudad una maravilla.

  dinner only

  We had a dinner sitting outside...price was not bad and the food was delicious. We had few types of bear and all of them were testy...I fully recommend together with nice view on the street and people wolking around it was a good decision to stay there.

  Easy to Find and Easy Parking

  So we wound up in Gorlitz because two of our kids wanted new Birkenstocks and the closest outlet was here. And where you ask is Gorlitz? That was our question too. It is as. East as you can get in Germany without being in Poland. We stumbled onto our hotel when we drove into the Aldstadt and couldnt turn a corner so we parked the car, walked through an arch and there it was. Fortunately a room was available and we happily took it and As it turned out there was proper parking in front - 10 euros for 24 hours. Woohoo! The room had an awesome floor to ceiling brown tiled wall heater with an opening for coal or wood or whatever they used to use to heat the rooms. I loved that even with modernization, the owners had left this nod to the past. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was really nice with a fabulous shower stall. Breakfast was good and the breakfast room had beautiful old frescoes on the wall that must have been uncovered during renovations. Unfortunately all the info was in German, and my translation skills are in need of tweaking. BTW, that Birkenstock factory had amazing deals on sandals and Gorlitz is a terrific place to visit especially since it is not on the radar...yet!

  Lovely two night stay.

  This is a very well appointed 3 star hotel in Obermarkt. Rooms are well sized and modern. Good sized bathroom with shower, hairdryer etc. Bed was comfortable. Being on the second floor we had a view of the Obermarkt with the fountain. Breakfast was good and in a lovely room with a large important mural art. Apparently the discovery of the art was significant for Saxony. It is in two parts. On the right as you enter is the tale of law and mercy, based on a woodcut of Erhard Schoen who created the nine heathen women in 1531. Five are illustrated here. On the left show scenes of Abraham and Isaac and the sacrifice. Stunning. An unusual sight at breakfast. Spotlessly clean hotel. Friendly staff. About a 10 minute easy walk from the station. Many places to eat and drink in walking distance. Recommended.

  Lack of Service

  Stay at your own risk. Arrived for a confirmed and paid reservation. Hotel was closed. A note on the locked door instructed us to ring the bell for service. Rang the bell ten times and no one answered. Called the phone number listed on the door and no one answered. We went to the tourist information office across the street and asked for assistance. The woman at the office said that hotel is closed. They are remodeling. When she learned the hotel accepted the reservation and we paid for the room, s he placed a call to someone at the hotel and they finally arrived. We were the only peole in the hotel. The next morning, there was no one at reception for check out. It was 930am and the place was locked tight. Three weeks after our stay, we were charged 50 euros for two keys which we had returned. Stay at your own risk. Customer service is a disaster.
