    Remote but great shuttle service

Stayed two nights in a Western/Japanese room. Plenty of room and clean bathroom and toilet in the room. Buffet dinner with a large choice and descriptions of Japanese dishes. Very nice food, generous and extremely helpful staff. Shuttle service took us to Nagano-Zenkoji Temple and the monkey park. They also collected us and returned us to the Nagano station.

    Older style family resort hotel

We were picked up by the hotel shuttle bus from Nagano station and driven to the Nagano - Zenkoji temple area for 3 hours browsing time. Yuriko, our driver and hotel desk clerk is lovely and very helpful and speaks English. The hotel was a 50 minute drive from Nagano in the Yomase Onsen area. There are 3 Baths available for guest use, two located outside. Free Wifi is available only in the lobby area which is unheated and rather cold at night. Dinner and breakfast is included. I would suggest you go to the buffet when it opens as the food cools down and not as tasty. Selection is reasonable and a mix of Japanese style foods. The hotel definitely needs some refurbishment as the carpets are quite stained. There is a guest laundry available. Our room was a large Japanese/Western room with private facilities and bath. In the Japanese room there was a Sakura cha flower tea and apple biscuit to welcome us. Tea and coffee making and fridg also available in room. The rooms are an older style but very clean. No English TV channels available.

    Remote but worth it !

We were picked up by the hotel shuttle bus from Nagano sation and driven to the Zenkoki Temple. We decided to stay for 2 hours rather than the recommended 3 hours. Should've taken their advice as this is the best temple we'd visited in Japan and lots to see in Nagano. Note : This is the only place we were able to find Miso Ice Cream and loved it :) Accommodation was massive (yes, the carpet could do with an upgrade but a non issue) and thoroughly enjoyed the Onsens. Beds were comfortable and heaps of room to spread out. Staff were amazing and the buffet breakfast and dinner options provided everything you could possibly want. Hotel provided free shuttle to see Snow monkeys and the tourist town of Obuse. We felt a bit lost there but managed the gardens were enjoyable and everyone in town was super friendly. On our final night, we were the only guests in the hotel and were treated to exclusive dinner and breakfast. Thank you so much for such a delightful experience. We will treasure our very special printed menus and it's an experience we will not forget. Views were incredible and the staff so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again

    Very enjoyable hotel

This hotel is one hour from Nagano station. The hotel will shuttle you to and from. We stayed here four nights and the hotel shuttled us each day to different attractions. We went to the snow monkeys twice, the first time we were dropped off at a path and it took 40 minutes to walk there. I asked the front desk if we could drive to a closer parking spot (we saw it as we walked) and I said I would pay the parking fee. This worked out perfectly, it was 15 minute walk but way back was easy as downhill all the way. The hotel staff are wonderful and very accomodating. On the negative side, the beds are very hard but I put three futons on top and made it a little softer. Agree with the previous comments the shower spurts all over the place. And a big thanks to the previous comment for the meal suggestion, go right at opening as the food does not stay warm. We went for breakfast 40 minutes after opening and all the hot food was cold. Overall, I really enjoyed this hotel, only 20 minutes from the snow monkeys. Also note; no shops around the hotel so stock up before coming. Decent fridge for cold item. I also recommend going to Matsumoto which the hotel will take you. Fantastic castle.

    Rather unique country style hotel

We stayed here two years ago and enjoyed the area as well as the service offered by the hotel which included transfers from and to Nagano Station as well as driving us to places of interest in the area. Staff are very friendly and helpful with limited English but you get by. Breakfast and dinner was included in the tariff. Breakfast is simple but adequate. The evening meal had improved in selection and taste from our last visit but it is advisable to get there 10 minutes before the actual dinner time as the dishes once gone are not replaced. Our room was a Western/Japanese style. One area had two large single beds with very firm pillows and the step up area had Japanese bedding in the cupboards which could be used. The carpet in the Western area was clean but rather stained. The Japanese area had tatami matting and a low Japanese table and chairs with tea and a couple of snacks provided. Wifi was only available in the reception area. There are hot springs both inside and outside.
