    One night Stay

My husband and I spent the night at the Shoreline Inn on our way to Traverse City and Petoskey. We were greeted at the front desk my a friendly lady that provided us with our room key and a brief orientation to the property. We had planned to dine at The Lake House Restaurant. We walked to the restaurant and had a great view of the sunset. It was certainly adequate for a one night stay during COVID 19.

    Comfortable one night stay

Stayed one night in a partial view of the water room. The king bed was firm, quiet on the 10th floor and unfortunately, no breakfast available due to COVID-19. Shout out to Patrick at the front desk who gave excellent recommendations for dining in town.

Not at all what we thought it would be.

Unfortunately for my family and I the pictures and hype did not live up to the reality of this hotel. First, what is good about it? The front desk staff. They were courteous, polite, and had a lot of great foodie recommendations. And the view from our corner room on the 7th floor, it was a nice view of the water. What wasn't so good? Our room (a double king/queen corner suite), and the pool/hot tub area. The room. We booked a two bedroom corner suite. It was a single room with no door separating the two beds/sleeping areas. Please note this if you're planning on staying and want some privacy from your kids. Our room did not offer that. Next, the bathroom was old, and ours had a lot of mold both on the ceiling tiles (from the 90's) and on the walls of the tub/shower. There was a tremendous amount of noise on the 7th floor as well. As if multiple families were all shoved into one room or something. The noise was apparent every time you exiting the room. The pool/hot tubs. Yeesh. They need to be cleaned. They were gross to say the least. The hot tub had at least 8 people in both most of the time we visited (the COVID rule states 2 per hot tub max). The pool had as many as ten people in them at a time as well. The pool was cloudy and just dirty. The same for the hot tubs, there was a lot of foam in the hot tub with "dirt" accumulating on the foam. They really needed to enforce the 8 person rule and check for bacteria levels but they didn't. So use caution if you're concerned there. Finally, we really did not see a lot of cleaning going here. With our countries current situation we thought they would be wiping down common areas more-so, cleaning buttons, hand rails etc. We never saw this during our two night stay. There were a lot of folks trafficking through these areas as well, so that's a concern. Masks were largely worn, but large groups of people we saw had no mask on at all, and didn't seem to care about the mandate either. Overall, we were disappointed. We had a lot of expectations for this hotel, it looked beautiful in the photos and the outside is very nice but the inside and especially the rooms/pool/hot tub left a lot to be desired. I wasn't expecting a 5 diamond resort but expected more for the price we paid.

    Nice hotel 20 years ago

We reserved a jacuzzi suite for a weekend stay. Our room was large and the view was beautiful. However, this hotel is in much need of a remodel. We noticed right away that our room seemed so dark, in the morning we discovered why the hotel is filled with soft lighting. The wallpaper is turning yellow and peeling all over the room. The fan for the fireplace did not work, the light above the sink didn't work. No fan in the bathroom, so mold is starting to build up on the ceiling above the shower. The bed was also extremely loud and squeaky. I felt bad for whoever was under us, as we reserved this room for my husband's birthday.... The most annoying part about this hotel is the elevator. Because of covid, only 1 family at a time. So trying to leave the 5th floor was almost impossible. We opted for the stairs most of the weekend. For the price, this hotel is not worth it.

    Shoreline inn

The front desk was nice at first, but then when we got in the room there was no toilet paper and the bathroom ceiling tiles were falling down. We payed 200$ for a room, and after acouple hours of staying there mostly in the pool, the front desks calls and says the neighbors are complaining and the cops pulled up 10 mins later. And they didnt refund our money. 200$ Down the drain half star for this place. DONT waste your money here.
