  Lovely country house hotel

  We booked 2 nights on a dinner bed and breakfast deal through Secret Escapes for April and due to Covid this was put back until September Our room was beautiful as were both evening meals. Unfortunately due to low staffing service at the bar was almost non existent which is puzzling as that is an area they could have taken money Breakfast was okay but some items such as scrambled eggs and mushrooms had obviously been cooked for a while and it seemed there was only one chef cooking and serving breakfast

  If you are looking for a peaceful setting and a first class hotel this is ideal.

  After three abortive bookings due to Covid our stay at Solberge Hall was very good. The setting is peaceful and close to the North Yorkshire Moors for excellent scenery and walks and within easy reach of the small market towns of Thirsk and Northallerton. The staff and food where excellent and room comfortable.

  Afternoon tea

  We had a lovely tea at Solberge, better food and staff than at Harrogates classic lodge, the Old Swan. The lady on reception was friendly and professional. We were shown to z nice set table, in the window, with adequate social distancing from the other tea attendees. The sandwiches were similar to harrogates, but scones and cakes won hands down! A fabulous lemon posset cup, and sweet treats finished it nicely, with freshly brewed drinks. We will be back!

  Christmas break

  We booked a Christmas package at Solberge Hall as something to look forward to at the end of 2020. It is set in beautiful grounds and we had a stunning view over the surrounding countryside. Our room was incredible (the most opulent we've ever stayed in and featured a bathtub in the room as well as a double shower in the bathroom! The food was lovely and to a very high standard and the gluten free options were fantastic. There was a lot of food but not huge portions so you didn't feel overstuffed! Afternoon tea was lovely and presented beautifully and the staff could not do enough for you. A special thanks goes to Tamara who really went above and beyond. The only thing I would have altered would have been to have had a Christmas tree in the room too... Although hearing from other guests this is something that you usually bring with you if you are to do this regularly! The hotel was quiet and given the circumstances the staff were all very Covid aware without being overbearing. I would highly recommend Solberge Hall... It is a stunning house in a beautiful setting with wonderful staff and high quality food!

  Christmas break

  This was the most wonderful Christmas break that we could ever have imagined amongst all the nightmare of Covid. The hotel was extremely well managed with all the Covid procedures in place. The food was exceptional and the hospitality of all the staff made this a Christmas to remember. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so special and a big thank you also to the chefs for the excellent food. (If you like Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, this is the number 1 place to go).
