  El mejor hotel en su estilo

  Hotel heritage, con todas las comodidades de un 5 estrellas. Atenciones y servio excelentes. Desayuno acorde con la categoria del hotel. Vale la pena cenar en el restaurante, calidad a buen precio. Entorno encantador. Un fallo: se encuentra en el recinto del monasterio y es necesario estar acreditado para acceder al recinto, pues la policia controla los accesos. Previamente a la llegada hay que avisar,para que alguien del hotel nos acredite en la policia, nuestra agencia no lo hizo y nos tuvieron media hora esperando hasta que la encargada del hotel noa acreditó.

  Un remanso de paz y buen gusto

  Este hotel está ubicado a unos 150 metros de la entrada principal al complejo del monasterio. El personal es una sonrisa y amabilidad permanente. Las instalaciones están decoradas con un gusto exquisito. Hay zonas comunes en cada planta donde te puedes relajar . Hay música relajante en el ambiente . Las habitaciones son muy espaciosas y tiene unas vistas impresionantes. El restaurante con una carta amplia y exquisita. Sencillamente mágico y muy especial. Me quedaría aquí a vivir

  winter visit

  Went to Songstam after Banyan tree Lijiang. We as a family has very limited Mandarin knowledge. Thankfully the staff there able to communicate in English. Was "trapped" at the entrance/security guard to the monastery as could not find our booking. After a while found out we were booked to this hotel rather than the other one at the back of the monastery. Hotel was very quiet in winter. We could be the only guest. Beautiful hotel due to the effort made by the owner to keep all the original features. We stayed in room 101, 2 bedroom with a sitting room. Nice room, but of course at this secluded area and limitation of an old building, it is not as comfortable as a new purpose built hotel. However it is a well restored building. Dinner was good on both nights. Very reasonable. Breakfast was not like a large hotel chain but we are not a keen on large "spread". Adequate for all of us. We have no complains except it is very cold in winter!

  The Songtsam Hotel and the smaller, older lodge are excellent!

  I stayed in the original lodge some years back, as well as in the larger new hotel after it was built - highly recommend both! Hope to re-visit again before the area gets more developed... My 1st visit was in 2005, before the area was more authentic,and not so developed for tourists, the small lodge was a great escape,etc.

  Incredibly gorgeous

  The lovely Songtsam is beautifully located opposite the tibetan Songzanlin monastery and the bordering lake. Shangri-la is about 4 km away. The village-like layout of the hotel is spread over more than 20 buildings and is designed in tibetan style with many references to this magnificent region. Our room was large and styled in traditional tibetan style and rounded off with all sorts of modern amenities. The rooms are decorated with local handicrafts and complemented by tibetan antique furniture. Our room had as well a terrace and a litte garden facing the monastery. You hardly want to leave the room. The bathroom is large with separate shower and toilet. The handmade copper sinks are a very unique feature. The restaurant has large windows to enjoy the breathtaking views of the monastery and the great countryside while enjoying local or western cuisine (they even had Wiener Schnitzel on the menu). Service staff is very friendly and attentive. Buffet breakfast is very good. All staff around the hotel is friendly and service oriented. In the evening staff and locals perform traditional dances on a complimentary basis.
