  Wonderful

  Everyone was so sweet and nice but one person stuck out. Junstin The driver for the shuttle was exceptional he helped me with my bags and held the door open and everything he truly deserves appreciation.

  Just ok for the price

  Booked this room for one night with credit card points. Check in was listed as 3pm. I had my kids with me and finished early at the McWayne center, and wanted to check in at 2. Gave them a call, they said no early checkins were available. Had no where else to go, so I just showed up and asked about it 10 minutes later, and they got me in a room. The room only had a king bed, no pull out couch. I called and told them, and they said due to renovations not all rooms have a pull out couch right now. I told them it was me and the two kids, and they needed a place to sleep. They found another room that had one after a couple minutes. This room was not as clean as the first one- see pictures. This hotel was fine, and everyone was friendly enough, but not worth $200 / night after all the fees and parking were said and done. Parking was $18 in a city of Bham lot that did not adjoin the building- had to walk pretty far, did not feel secure, and got rained on.

  Not bad

  This was walkable to UAB for me, but not for my mother. Parking was $20/day so you have to factor that in to the rate. The hotel and staff were nice, but it's not as convenient to UAB as we would have liked.

  Needed caffeine and a breakfast option, even a muffin would have been nice!

  At first glance I was pleasantly surprised. The room had an abundance of space! No breakfast option/no coffee in the room was a big oversight! Times are hard, but those are essentials! Traveling with kids is not easy, but take away a coffee option and a "provided breakfast" even a grab and go and my trip just got more complicated. I was disappointed in their level of professionalism and service during this time. I know that during this time things are hard, but I did not feel cared for in that moment. Take care of the guests you have even if they are few! No coffee maker in my room for me to even make my own coffee, and grab and go breakfast will work just fine. . . warm sandwiches or croissant, fruit and yogurt are all good options, and well supported in the price we pay!

  Didn't live up Marriott standards

  Check in easy, clerk helpful. Room had 4 small square pillows. Requested extra pillows but none available. No trash can in room. 2 wash cloths, 1 hand towel, 3 bath towels, 1 bath mat. No makeup remover or extra wash cloth for face. Room well lit. Wonder how clean? Something like straps on floor in front of sofa, seem to be attached to sofa. If vacuumed, surely this would have been noticed, but footstool was pushed up against sofa when we arrived. Location is great. Have stayed at this hotel over the years, but this is most likely my last stay. Shower is awkward in that you pretty much have to get in to turn it on, and water floods floor because of design. Water is not hot. Room has an odor like it might have been sprayed with something.
