  I'm pretty sure my Marriott credit card was copied by the desk clerk at this hotel. The card showed 2 authorization swipes at this hotel and it was done in the back room. Don't let your card out of your site if you stay here. Other than having to deal with a stolen credit card the day after, the stay was fine.

  Go to the Hilton Garden Inn

  Construction work exterior and interior to hotel, with work continuing into the evening, which is unacceptable for paying guests. Most of the TV channels were not working, with the issue attributed to issues at the provider end. Too many challenges at this Marriott property.

  Great Marriott property even under Covid

  Stayed here at the end of August and early September during the coated time. This property is awesome. Not too many people here so you don't have to worry too much about social distancing. The dining room and pool areas were closed but that's to be expected. The rooms were great large Suites. Very nice Linens and very comfortable and clean throughout. They still serve you a nice breakfast that all you need to do is warm up in the microwave in your room. Or you can grab a grab-and-go breakfast sandwich. The people that work chair or awesomely friendly. There's free parking and the location is right off the freeway however you don't hear any of the noise from the freeway. There is an Applebees in a couple other small restaurants nearby. The Applebee's is across the parking lot. Recommend this property.

  Disappointing

  I have to say this Marriott property is not the standard I am used to. The only nice thing I can say is the gal at the front desk was friendly upon check in. No USB ports, few electric outlets, no water pressure for the shower, stained towels. It makes me wonder if I am risking my health since the cleaning seems to be at a very minimal level. I wont be staying here again.

  Highly Recommend

  Over a long 10-day cross-country trip, this was one of the most relaxing hotels I stayed in. We had the 2 queen bed suite, which had an ample living room clearly separated from the bedroom, so one person can work late on the laptop while the other is sleeping soundly. I would definitely make this my hotel of choice if I ever stop at Las Cruces again (Las Cruces Is a convenient stop on the Houston to Phoenix I-10 run if you want to avoid an overnight in El Paso). Since we checked in early in the evening and left early the next morning, I can't comment on any amenities the hotel might have other than the room itself: don't even know if they have a pool. Check-in was fine. Covid-19 precautions were in order. Awesome TVs--one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Good staff, good housekeeping. .It also has the advantage of being right off the interstate, and only about 5 minutes away from the historic plaza in Mesilla, the most historic and scenic town in southern New Mexico. A few recent negative reviews confuse me; one states that there are no USB ports in the rooms--we charged two cell phones and two tablets in our room, and WiFi was excellent. Another complains of ongoing construction during the evening: we slept the sleep of the Just with no noise whatsoever--not even highway noise from I-10. A reviewer complained about this hotel not being up to Marriott standards: I disagree; I stay at Marriotts often. I believe that in the 8 months prior to the pandemic travel shutdown, I reviewed two Marriott hotels in Istanbul, a grand one in Cairo, and one I rated as poor in San Antonio. But the Marriott properties are a hierarchy. Fairfields, Springhill Suites and Courtyards are lower down the chain than Marriotts, Sheratons and JW Marriotts. As a lower budget brand of the chain, this one was EXCELLENT for its class. Period! True, you don't get a view of the Nile or the Bosporus, and there's no executive lounge with free buffets. It's an economy hotel, and as one, it merits an excellent rating in my opinion! So there!
