Tragos coquetosHe visitado para tomar unos tragos y todos han sido súper amables, termine cenando en el lugar, las vistas espectaculares, la atmósfera perfecta, con música, personas riendo, los meseros súper atentos, el lago... maravilloso

Faulty Towers Lives!Run away as quick as you can if someone suggests staying here! It is a building set in five acres of wonderful grounds with a lovely lake and that is it! We stayed for one night last Friday and never again. We booked a king sized bedroom and a surly receptionist gave us a double room which I had to go two long flights of stairs back down to change (no lifts and no room telephone). The surly receptionist was not pleased. Mistakenly we had dinner in the hotel as it was a horrible night weather wise. The crab starter arrived (at £9.95 each) and was literally the size of a 50p piece. My seabass main course followed immediately together with my wife's St Michael burger. Both were tasteless. We decided not to risk a dessert and the whole meal was over in fifty five minutes. We both tried to have a shower the next morning and the hot water reduced to a dribble after a couple of minutes Breakfast was awful. My poached eggs on smoked salmonwere cold. My wife ordered cereal (no muesli or granola) followed by toast and preserves. Both came together. She sent the toast back saying that she preferred it hot, after her cereal. Eventually we had to ask for it's return. When it arrived the plate was hot and the portions of butter virtually exploded over my wife's hand. Completely liquidised, The same toast had simply been microwaved. When paying the bill to Mr Surly I demanded a reduction. He didn't seem surprised and simply waived all charges for the dinner, He was obviously used to complaints. This is a tired 1950's ish Graham Greene like hotel that has seen better days. Give it a wide berth. All that was missing was The Major "Evening Faulty."

WeddingWe were married here and had our reception here at the beginning of September. The day was fantastic, the Team went out of their way to remove any stress from us and planned everything down to the last detail. Would highly recommend this fabulous venue, accommodation was lovely, food was terrific, and faultless customer service.

Lovely last minute stayBooked locally as wanted a close by overnight break. Positives: lovey boutique feel hotel Evening meal great quality and good value for money. With good gluten free choices and care taken in making sure choices explained. All of the staff in the restaurant and bar were great - friendly, efficient and helpful. They are a real credit to the hotel. Negatives: breakfast was ok... eggs benedict - eggs were overdone and no gluten free toast (coeliac guest) - felt very different to evening meal quality. Reception and check in didnt feel positive - we had to wait at the desk while two members of staff carried on a discussion. The more senior staff member was abrupt (bordering on rude). Then were made to feel we should have booked for dinner ahead - if thats required the hotel should email guests before they arrive. And then told we could only eat at 6 or 6:15 - no information given on how to get a drink as bar shut until we asked the question. Also not asked when we checked out whether we had had a good stay... shame as front of house sets the scene for rest of hotel. Could easily be resolved either with some training or different approach of reception staff...but looks like others also commented and still the same issue...

Afternoon TeaThis was a gift and whilst the company was excellent the overall feeling was one of slight disappointment Service was good but no choices of tea explained, felt that the pot of tea should have been accompanied by a pot of hot water. Sandwiches were lovely, but, despite tasting delicious the scones were huge, far too big for an afternoon tea, impossible to eat them both and as a result no one ate any of the patisseries which were boxed and taken home. I noticed that every table seemed the same, most of the cakes were uneaten and boxed up. This is such a shame as a lot of work would have gone into the preparation of the cakes and we were not able to enjoy them on the day In terms of social distancing the hotel was well prepared and very thorough and we felt very safe but as far as value for money goes, I am glad I didn't pay!!
