    no volvere

un hotel en las afueras del pueblo que por cierto es precioso. las habitaciones son antiguas y el aire acondicionada es una broma ya que no funciona. no es un sitio para volver para una segunda vez. es una pena porque podría ser muy bonito

    Good hotel, average restaurant

Hotel is quite small, with ground floor for the reception and restaurant, and first and second floor for guests. The room for three is tiny but fine. A double bed consists of two single beds placed together. There is only one elevator that serves first and second floor. Part of each floor is at a higher level so you will need to use stairs. Breakfast is acceptable although the only warm food is an egg that you have to boil for yourself. Lunch and dinner are not so good. And even if you paid for lunch/dinner in advance, you have to pay extra 1.50 euro (either per person per meal or per liter) for tap water.

    Rooms ok, food is bad

We stayed in the hotels in May as a part of a school group. The first thing on your entrance to the hotel is an open door to the bar area, where people smoke like chimneys. Even if there are no guests inside the bar, you will find the hotel manager and staff having a smoke and a beer there. It seems to be a usual thing in Austria, so be ready for a lot of smoking. The rooms were ok, clean and rather fresh. Can't say anything positive about the in-house restaurant. It was terrible. Breakfasts were mainly "creatively" utilized leftovers from yesterdays' dinners. Soups for lunch were from the broth cubes - very salty and bland. When we complained the soup was too salty, they just diluted it with tap water in front of our eyes. I can go on some more, but you get an idea. The most appalling thing was that we had to pay for tap water served with each meal. Having a group of more than 30 children we could not ask them not to drink during meals at all and went for the cheapest option, tap water, ending up paying more than 200 euros at end of the trip.

    Would not stay again

We stayed here during a Euro hike Holiday. The hotel is very dated. Apparently had some recent renovations and our sink as well as the tile in the bathroom looked new. The shower head was broken and had to be hand held (reminded me of my camping days!). The room was clean and comfortable enough. The worse part was that our window opened over the patio area. At night you could hear people talking as if they were in our room and you could smell the smoke of their cigarettes coming through the open window. It was too hot to sleep with the window closed. Those people were talking and laughing loudly until midnight at least (I was finally able to fall asleep, so I do not know exactly how long,,,) The breakfast was ok. The yogurt was good. There were choices of cereals and rolls as well as cold cuts/cheese and the possibility to make an hard boiled egg. The coffee was good. The dining area is very quaint and the table cloths spotless. A lady who could have possibly been the owner kept the breakfast area very neat. No one was particularly friendly, but this is something we have run into several places in Austria and it did not surprise us. I think there have to be better places to choose from in Bad Hischl.

    Functional but fine

Hotel in a good location about a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Busy traffic road outside as it's a main road into town, but didn't keep me awake and I had the window open at night due to the 30+ degrees temperature. Single bed in single room with en suite shower. Room comfortable, shower okay. Aircon was an archaic box that effectively didn't work. Breakfast was included, but I would rather it hadn't been. Modest array of cheese and cold cuts, rolls and cereals. Eggs had to be boiled yourself in a boiling pot, or fried yourself on a hot plate. Scrambled and poached didn't seem to be an option. Coffee passable, but again, nothing to shout about. Essentially, it was adequate, but don't expect any frills apart from the wi-fi, which was strong.
