  It wasnt that great

  I've been in the Hospitality Industry 3.5 years now traveled alot of places on my employee discount and this was by far the worst hotel I've gotten yet. The pool smelled TERRIBLE and its a kiddie pool only 3 ft deep all over and NO hot tub unlike what I saw in a picture.. I refused to get in it and used the neighboring hotels pool which was clean out door and 5ft deep with very nice pool furniture... The rooms are poorly designed cant get a whole cabinet door open because its up against the microwave, only 1 crappy tv which is impossible to watch if there is someone sleeping on the bed and the couch, the dresser that holds the tv makes it almost impossible to not have to crawl all over the bed to get on that side... The couch and bed were comfy... out door in the patio area they need new tables desperately we almost turned the table over twice it was very wobbly... pretty shady area the hotel is in you may not want to walk around too much at night lots of homeless ppl... On top of all that i had a search lamp shining right in my room window all night long it was terrible... front desk agents were nice

  Fantastic Staff.

  We stayed here from April 16, 2020 to September 26, 2020 due to our house being damaged in a Tornado. During that time, you see a lot that goes on at a hotel and some of the garbage a hotel staff has to deal with. First off, this hotel staff is very professional. They did everything humanly possible to accommodate us during our stay. The staff was always very friendly and helpful and during our stay, many of them became friends. They made a very trying and stressful time easier. I met many other tornado victims during our time at the hotel and I am sure they would say the same. We would stay here again just based on the staff. Now, to the building itself. It is somewhat difficult to give a fair review due to COVID. Breakfast is mostly grab and go. They have 2-3 selections of fruits. Several packaged dry cereals, 2-3 juices and milk. Some packaged pastries. They recently started serving 2-3 hot items. Due to COVID shutting it down, we were never able to experience the evening social. I was told by more than one returning guest that is is really nice and would have good food. The fitness room is actually good for a hotel. The pool is a 3ft pool all the way around. The pool is good for kids, but not if you want to do a lot of swimming. The security is good at the hotel. Due to being next to the interstate, there are a lot of questionable people in the area. The staff was very proactive in making sure the property was safe and secure. During our stay, there were incidents of loud guests. The hotel was not tolerant of loud guests and would ask them to leave if they did not settle down. We actually either saw or heard of guests being asked to leave. With the hotel staying on top of this, it made us feel we were in a safe hotel. Here are some suggestions if you stay several days. If you need to do laundry, do it early on Saturday or around 4-5 in the afternoon during the week. It could get busy and some people would let their laundry just sit in the machines. If you are going during the summer, check with the hotel to see if they are hosting tournament teams. The hotel can be very busy during that time. There are many restaurants within a 1/2 mile of the hotel. The staff here will be missed.

  Very kind staff and comfortable rooms

  My husband and I stay here most years to rest on our way to and from Florida. We like it because we can bring our dog (and he loves this place as well :) ). Also, we find the beds very comfortable! This past weekend, we had some car trouble Sunday morning, October 18, as we were leaving, and the woman at the front desk went above and beyond to help us out (with a sweet and kind smile on her face the whole time). We also appreciated the chance to get a hot breakfast in a safe manner--a limited amount of hot food is served and you can choose from several items to take back to your room.

  Dissapointing stay

  I recently had a stay at a newer Staybridge suites in Alabama and it was nearly fabulous, so I was cautiously excited to book this hotel considering its (unreasonably) high average rating on TripAdvisor. The area was not exciting-a mix of fast food, gas stations, as well as multiple low and some mid-grade hotels. My first interaction at the hotel was with an employee who did not even bother to pretend to wear a mask. I try to stay away from elevators in hotels for personal safety during pandemic and I used stairs. The stairwell was absolutely disgusting. Filthy would be a compliment. My next interaction with front desk was next morning with a gentleman who also was unmasked. Unlike his female colleague, he took one step further and invited me to take my mask off when he was not able to hear what I said. I politely (and fearfully) declined his kind invitation. Obviously, by then I was just freaked out by the lack of any safety adherence. I skipped hot breakfast-if these unmasked people cook the food, I do not wish to be anywhere near it. I have encountered 2 more hotel employees without masks during. I saw only one gentleman at the front desk who had his mask on -at the very end of my stay. The room-carpet was worn out, tub and toilet are used so frequently that they turn this yellowish colour (yuck). Shower curtain is so thick, that it will touch your body if you attempt to use it. Heat/AC unit was insufficient. On a positive note, the room appeared relatively clean, so housekeeping does make an effort to do what they can. The GM refunded 2nd night of my stay, and I checked out in the early evening hour before my 2nd night-I did not want to sleep there again and just wanted to run from there asap. It puzzles me how the hotel achieved 4 and 1/2 stars average on TA which is usually the "magic" score. In my experience, a hotel that reaches or surpasses TA's average score of 4 and 1/2 stars is usually an excellent or at least a very good place to stay.

  Not a good experience

  It was a horrible experience! The young front desk girl was rude! She had to put her shoes back on and put her phone down to come help me. I asked her for sugar for the room because there wasn't any. She give me 4 packets for a 12 cup coffee pot. I asked for more and she gave me an attitude! Pointed and told me it was over by the coffee station. I wouldn't mind but, for the price we paid I shouldn't get an attitude for wanted sugar! We stayed on the 4th floor and it smelled like rotten milk as soon as you got off the elevator. The room was clean but, for mold underneath the kitchen sink and the showerhead leaked out the side so, the water pressure was weak. I'm a Wyndham employee and I could stay at any of our hotels for a lot cheaper but, choose to stay with you because we've stayed at many Staybridge's and had an amazing stay. I can't say that for this one.
