  Excellent

  We went wirh my girlfriends and it has been a great surprise and a delicious dinner ! Service was good and rhe food amazing ! Very fine gourmet meal and with local products , the wine list is for everyone and you ll find wine from around the world

  Great Weekend Escape

  We spent 2 nights at The Ashby Inn over Columbus Day. Our typical weekend getaway venues were booked, and we had never been to Paris (Virginia), so we booked here. Great experience. We stayed in one of the schoolhouse rooms, which was nice, and made good use of the fireplace one night. We also had a fire out in the lawn (for a $50 charge, which we thought was a little odd, but still worth it). The little one-lane remnants of the town of Paris is charming, and the inn provides a little walking tour guide of the history of the various houses and former commercial buildings, which was great. Hiking Sky Meadows / AT and Middleburg were both great day activities.

  Perfect Visit!

  As we always like to take a short trip to celebrate our Anniversary this year we decided on The Ashby Inn in Paris, VA which is a short ride from Middleburg on Rt. 50. The Inn itself dates back to 1829 with three buildings that include the Inn, Restaurant and School House. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly manager who quickly showed us to our room in the adjacent School House which turned out to be perfect for us. We had the Settle room which was on the first floor and had a private balcony that overlooked the Blue Ridge Mountains. Tons of antiques and a very comfortable King size bed and a large modern bath and TV, coffee maker and refrigerator. Everything was spotless! Our dinner was fabulous with great service and in a small private room that also had another couple which gave us all plenty of room. Wine is sold by the glass and the list had a large number of interesting choices to choose from. As we were more than full we passed on the deserts but they did appear to be tempting to us. The following morning we had breakfast served in the restaurant and it was very good as well with a variety to choose from with fresh ingredients and excellent service. All in all a perfect stay in Virginia Horse country and we plan to return as it was that good.

  Spectacular inn, standout wine tour

  Its hard in the days of COVID-19 to find safe, enjoyable places to stay and things to do. The beautiful Ashby Inn accomplishes a truly outstanding stay without compromising ones health in any way. A particular standout is the wine tour offered by the inns exceptional sommelier, John Leight. Ive had wine tours in Napa, Mendocino, and even Virginia, but none has been as personalized and fun as the one at the Ashby. Each stop in the tour was carefully chosen for the quality of its wine, spectacular views, or homey ambiance. Along the way we were treated to facts about grapes and growing, the art of pairing, and local highlights. When staying at the Ashby, the wine tour is not to be missed.

  Thanksgiving dinner Carryout

  We decided to order Thanksgiving dinner for carryout from Ashby Inn this Corona year. What a great choice! Each dish was excellent and just required reheating. So much easier and less risky than doing it ourselves. We highly recommend, and we'll do it again. Thank you Ashby Inn staff!
