  Great stay, would definitely return!

  A lovely hotel with everything you could need. Rooms clean and pool area nice. Staff in bar extremely friendly and attentive with food quality and value for money great. COVID measures in place made us feel very safe.

  Great hotel , food was very good, staff friendly rooms clean, the hotel was very Covid-19 aware and had hand sanitiser everywhere, staff al wore face coverings.. really nice place always stay here when racing at PF

  A lucky escape thanks to Covid

  We were bought a Buyagift voucher as a Xmas present last Xmas and booked a night at the Olde Barn for March. Covid lockdown caused postponement the first time - fair enough. The received a call from the hotel around a week before the revised date in July, advising that they could no longer honour the booking and that we'd need to re-book (no reason given but at the time not a Covid risk). Today's booking was cancelled 15mins before check-in by the hotel due to last nights Nottinghamshire Tier 3 brand. Wouldn't have been a problem (a fair cop) but Tier 3 only 'advises' not to stay away - apparently 'management' deemed Tier 3 as 'lockdown'. Again, each to their own (opinion) but the frustration is the fact we'd travelled nearly an hour and were 6mins from the hotel. Reading some of the reviews on here, probably did us a favour as frustrating as the late cancellation was (by the hotel - not Boris). Didn't get to stay so can't comment on rooms, food, service, staff, etc but we're had the voucher redeemed by Buyagift and will not be using it here.

  Friendly, caring staff

  At a time when travelling isnt easy, the staff at this hotel all went the extra mile to our brief stay special. They were all lots of fun and really helpful. My children felt at ease in their own room and the dog got superstar treatment. Thanks! Its just what we needed...

  Second Time Stay. Massive Improvement since 2018

  I stayed here back in September 2018. The room I was allocated last time was a little strange, small TV and sloping roof... This time however, I was allocated room 805 (My business partner got 806) Check-in was very efficient, contact free and covid safe with screens in place. Masks are compulsory in all public areas as it should be and the staff I spoke with were lovely and very helpful The room was spacious and clean, although I was a little confused as to why the wardrobe was right next to the doorway into the room as there is very little room here (see the photo below) Excellent sized TV with all the freeview channels and two single beds (I'm sure I booked a double, but no matter) the bed I slept on was very springy ... as in VERY springy... but it was comfortable and I slept like a very loudly snoring baby. The bathroom had an amazing walk-in shower and a deep bath tub which was just what was needed after a long day of work and driving. Just one criticism, there are no grab rails around the bath and as it is very deep, it could be an issue with someone who isn't quite as steady on their feet as I am when getting in and out... Lovely bath smellies too.. I opted for Room service which was tomato and red pepper soup, rolls with butter, and a Doombar ale pie and chips with a huge gravy boat of gravy. Food was amazingly nice considering some of the food on offer in other hotels at the moment. Piping hot, full of flavour (especially the soup which was to die for as they say) Breakfast the next morning was equally as nice. I opted for toast with sausage and beans (must be the old cowboy in my genes) All in all a lovely hotel and lovely staff. Doing their utmost to keep things as normal as possible during this pandemic... thank you all
