  A Historic Visit

  My wife & I always try to celebrate each anniversary with a short trip out of town. Sometimes we go big, like Chicago, and sometimes we go small, like Franklin, TN. This year we went small in Parkersburg, WV and it was a great experience! My wife selected the Blennerhassett Hotel, and I made the reservations. When we arrived, there was a mix-up with our reservations and we ended up in a different room than what had been selected. We quickly returned to the front desk, where Samantha W. helped quickly clear up the confusion, and placed us in the correct room for the first night, and helped us make a smooth transition to a different room the following night. While moving rooms was not something we had hoped for, the graciousness, and professionalism showed by the hotel staff was welcome, and made our compromise a minimal one. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the hotel's restaurant (I had the 16 oz. bone-in ribeye, and my wife had crabcakes) and our server, Mary S. was an amazing host. She shared interesting insights about the area, made helpful recommendations for things to do while in town, and really made our stay at the Blennerhassett that much better! I can only imagine how much more enjoyable our stay would have been if we weren't all struggling through the coronavirus junk, but through it all the staff was top-notch, and Sam W. & Mary S. should be recognized as true ambassadors for the Blennerhassett Hotel! As a bonus, we received a very kind hand-written note from Samantha W. two days after our stay. We were impressed, to say the least, and will gladly recommend the Blennerhassett Hotel to anyone traveling to Parkersburg, WV.

  Nice place but needs work and packages are okay

  My wife and I stayed here and chose the Romance Package in late October. We opted for the Signature Suite Marie Antoinette Room. The package we chose came with a $100 voucher to the in-house restaurant, bottle of champagne, chocolates, cookies, and a lovely vase. The restaurant took almost the whole voucher which was expected as it is a very nice location with quality food, but we were place right over a vent that was blowing cold air in late October? Also, our waiter was very inattentive and slow with refills and very awkward with conversation and recommendations. The room was very elegant with a large bathroom and multi-directional shower, unfortunately the room was frigid the entire night and into the morning, when my wife and I went out on a late night walk it was actually slightly warmer outside. We cranked the heat up to the highest level and the bedroom itself warmed up slightly but the bathroom refused to warm up. The champagne wasn't very good, and we wound up pouring it out after a single glass each, chocolates (three) weren't much better. The cookies were very good and the vase and flowers were very nice and we were allowed to take the vase home with us as a memento. Overall, my recommendation is this is an okay place to go but it is possible to do better.

  Beautiful hotel dirty tub

  We absolutely love the Blennerhasset we have been twice in the last few months ... but really disappointed in our second stay after using the jacuzzi tub it was filthy !! May not be back after that episode !

  Unexpected Gem

  We wanted a one day/eve getaway. Had always enjoyed visiting Marietta, OH and had searched for a hotel in the area. Settled on the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, WV. Grt choice. Looked good on the website but much cooler in person. Very ornate and staff very friendly. We were able to take our dog. At checkin had his name on a plaque with adjacent dog treats. Our room was a junior suite with king bed, desk, and sofa. Was perfect. If ever in Parkersburg, dont miss this place. Also had a very nice restaurant and bar (will review separately)

  Valentines Getaway

  My wife and I spent valentines weekend at the Hotel. This is a wonderful historic hotel with a great restaurant. The building is clean, well maintained with a lot of historic character. The hotel services are top notch. From the valet parking to the bell hops to the front desk staff everyone showed the highest level of professionalism. I highly recommend this destination for any travel plans in and around Parkersburg, WV.
