  Decent hotel for business

  I stayed at The Briar Court, whil on business in Huddersfield. Clean, well appointed rooms with some toiletries included. The hotel itself is good for business use. A little tired, but only cosmetic. The attached restaurant serves food for room service, which mis helpful after a hard day at work. Pizza's are 12 inch versions, which isn't stated on the menu. The standard Chardonnay, which comes in a small bottle for room service is very good and more than acceptable. All in all a very joce hotel, with good facilities and options for eating.

  Nice place

  Rooms are very comfortable. Staff are friendly and happy to help, my arents have stayed in the disabled room, and clam it has very good facilities to aid those who have difficulties. Breakfast is nice, generous portions, coffee, jucies and preserves.

  Chance booking

  As the area is in lockdown we booked the Briar to socially distance meet family outdoors, we usually stay with them. Clean comfortable fantastic staff outstanding breakfast one of the best hotel experiences we have had and would not hesitate to stay there again first class.

  Would I stay again? ....Read on

  The question I ask myself is would I stay there next time and the answer was no! And I didnt on the return trip. It wasnt bad as such, I just got the feeling of being ripped off. I booked the larger (twice the price of a normal double room) but was given a normal room IMO. The staff werent terribly helpful and on checking out I had to stand and wait 5 mins for any staff to even show up! Eventually a cleaner went to find a woman who looked irritated that I had disturbed her tea break and plonked her mug of tea down angrily. No pleasantries. That was the final nail in the coffin regarding coming back. To add to the feeling of being ripped off, none of the little things that were stated on the website such as fruit, a dressing gown etc were in the room. I mentioned this and a banana, and an apple were left on a plate and the dressing gown was dropped off. There was no ironing facility but when I asked they gave me a disgusting ironing board and a knackered iron with which I was expected to press a clean white shirt. The adjoining restaurant was good though and the bed was comfortable but the traffic was noisy as you would expect in its location. I didnt get much sleep as there was a lot of banging about downstairs. Shame because the location was handy for where I was working.

  Excellent

  Have stayed and eaten here a number of times. Rooms are lovely, nicely presented and clean. Excellent food and helpful staff. The lady called Kellie who was looking after reception during my stay was absolutely amazing! Cannot recommend highly enough!
