  Looks awesome, but not really more

  The hotel looks really good, the building and the furniture is beautiful. But the room is loud, you can here all the words from the other rooms and the Cafe. If you want to sleep longer than 8 in the morning you got a problem. The breakfast is really good but it begins at 9.30 til 11.30, quite late if you plan to go out for a daytrip. The coffee is fantastic and the dishes to. We were planing some trips or our next journey to Kuala Lumpur and the reception was not really helpful so we had to search for our own.

  Charged 20% on top of booking.com price

  Told to find my own parking space when asked about parking- didnt explain parking ticket procedure even though it says it has parking available on line. Charged an additional service charge and additional tax plus 10rm non Malaysian room fee. So a booking of 280 suddenly becomes 335rm. We booked 2 double patio rooms- room with a view. Mine ended up a twin with a door opening onto rusty barbed wire. See photo attached. Guy on reception very unhelpful bordering on rude when challenged about the additional cost. Beautifully decorated but staff unpleasant. Having stayed at the hotel previously and recommending it to friends- I will no longer recommend it to anyone. Very disappointing.)

  Cool decor, great location

  I slept well, had an interesting bathroom, tiny balcony looking over creepers on the next (abandoned) building. The breakfast (complimentary, as I booked directly) was not really ideal, so I only had it once. Peter, who was on evenings while I was there, was exceptionally helpful - suggesting places to eat and drink, and finding a lovely driver to take me up to the Cameron Highlands. My room was not cleaned in 4 days which was odd - but I guess most people only stay a weekend?

  Over charged

  The location of the place is good, and the first impression at the reception is also good but the room was not that much. The bed was on the floor and the room was dark. Cockroaches in the bathroom. They didn't include breakfast in the booking and it was expensive in their lounge.

  EXCELLENT Wooden design, excellent service

  Wow! So beautiful, directly in the center of Ipoh. The manager showed us the day before to some nice places. The wooden decor is breath taking beautiful. Compliments. Clean rooms, feels like home. Thank you
