  perfect spot for my birthday

  My husband and I celebrated my birthday by staying overnight at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, and having dinner at Mille Fleurs. It was delightful in every aspect. The grounds of the hotel and beautiful and old California. We had an excellent breakfast at the Morada, with very good and friendly service. Our 'garden' hotel room felt a bit like a treehouse, with only lovey treetops in view. Clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

  DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE NOT WHITE

  Its hard to believe that I paid almost $300 per night here and was discriminated against for NOT BEING WHITE. I stayed here with my husband for 1 night in September 2020. For background, I am Asian, and my husband is Caucasian. I am a Platinum member of Marriott, so we got a voucher for free breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We always enjoyed the perks with my Marriott elite status. Little did we know, it became the beginning of a traumatic memory. In the morning, my husband and I went to the hotel restaurant to have breakfast. There was a hostess in the front. We walked towards her, and I asked, "Hi, could you please tell us how this voucher works here?". She looked at me (Asian), turned her head away, and then looked at my husband (Caucasian) and answered him the question. I felt humiliated at the moment but I didn't make a scene (maybe I should), as I was not sure what just happened. However, the feeling is scarring. Here I am, 7 am on a Saturday morning, almost 1 month after the stay, still feel humiliated for being treated as inferior for NOT BEING WHITE. Please do not stay here if you are NOT WHITE. And even if you are, please do not stay here as you might be discriminated for your age, sex, or sex orientation in this discriminative toxic environment.

  Nice but isolated

  Family and friends stayed for two days for our nieces wedding. Inn has been around for almost a hundred years. Few hiccups like not having room ready although we had called ahead. You must call to get ice etc. rooms are spacious and bed was comfy. We were in outer cottage so we had to do lots of walking. Covid restrictions enforced and couldnt even have a drink at bar unless you were eating. Wedding and reception had to be held outside under tents because weather turned cold,wet and windy.

  Perfect COVID-19 escape

  I have stayed at this place frequently over the years but hadn't been back in the past 12 months. I was lucky enough to visit for a few nights over the holiday and just had a great stay. The Bar and restaurant are only doing take-out but you can get their full menu and they are happy to make you a cocktail. The staff fall all over themselves to make sure you are taken care of. The place is perfect for social distancing since it is like cottages scattered around landscaped grounds so minimal interior common areas to navigate. I think all the rooms have nice patios and it is a great spot to chill with a book and forget your problems. Oh and they do real deal room service. I ordered and a guy in a suit rode up in a golf cart with our full meal on a nice tray on real dishes with real silverware WOW! In most hotels nowadays they put your food in a paper bag, throw it at your door and run for the hills. Kudos to Nate at the bar and all the friendly staff at this fine place. Can't wait to come back.

  Charming Property + Amazing Staff

  There is nothing I value more than fantastic customer service. My first day at the Inn unfortunately had a few hiccups. I travel often and know that these things happen, so I refuse to make snap judgements until I speak with a manager. Michelle was absolutely incredible. She was so kind and empathetic and addressed my issues immediately. She went above and beyond to make things right. For this I was beyond grateful. Michelle was not the only staff member to make my stay wonderful, the front desk attendent and the restaurant servers were also amazing. The grounds of this hotel are charming. The restaurant offers delicious food. The rooms are spacious and the suites have fireplaces (which was a big bonus for me.) The balcony was also an excellent size and a lovely place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a nice glass of wine. All in all I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff really does make this place extra special. Keep up the good work everybody!
