  Superb dinner at a company Christmas party

  We attended a Christmas party at the old post house and had the best food that I can recall having at an event with perhaps 60 guests. The quality, taste and quantity of the food was just first class. Service was superb too. Our expectations were high given the reputation of this venue for great food, so it was amazing to have our expectations exceeded. We would recommend this place to anyone thinking of holding an event in the Cardiff area. Its really good.

  Incredible Food and Warm service!

  We have eaten here a few times over the last 6 months, and what a find it is! They do breakfast and lunch and Sunday dinner, we have had all three, as well as the lovely Christmas meal in December which was a really lovely day. Can recommend the delicious homemade quiche and the salmon salad, the warm scotch egg, the potato rosti as well as lovely lattes and sticky toffee pudding to die for! Sunday lunch is also amazing with delicious gravy and roasties. The chef here really knows and understands flavours, and this is worth so much when it comes to decent food! :)

  3 night stay - August 2020

  We stayed in the St Fagans room for 3 nights to visit family who live nearby. I travelled with my wife and daughter (age 12) and the room was plenty big enough for us all with a large bed and comfortable sofa bed. There was plenty of storage, tea and coffee, bottles of water and an ensuite bathroom with large shower. We were greeted warmly on arrival and everyone at the hotel was so friendly throughout our stay. Social distancing was respected and there were plenty of hand sanitisers around. All seating in the restaurant and also outside under umbrellas or in gazebos was well spaced out. Breakfast was excellent too with plenty of choice and freshly cooked to order. Plus there is a lovely shop on-site selling daily essentials plus locally produced cheeses, sauces and other goodies - the scotch eggs were fab! Overall a brilliant stay, lovely people, great food and a comfortable room - we're looking forward to going back!!

  Great service, nice stay

  My girlfriend and I stayed here as part of our staycation during the new Covid restrictions and enjoyed our stay. Lovely, big room with a very comfy bed. TV is a little bit small (and far away from the bed!) but not a big deal. Staff were really friendly and gave us fresh milk both mornings, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was fab and we had Sunday dinner too which we enjoyed thoroughly. A great place to stay if youre visiting Saint Fagans.

  Fantastic afternoon tea

  We did not stay here but we had a lovely couple of hours in the beautiful marquee at the Old Post House. The afternoon tea was delightful, the sausage rolls amazing and the service excellent. Thank you so much for looking after us so well (and patiently) in these challenging times, just before the Christmas lockdown. We look forward to returning with more friends and family as soon as we are able.
