  Massive improvement

  After a couple of disappointing visits we were thrilled to return to see the Swan looking revamped to its previous elegance and warmth. We had a fabulous meal - beef shin for me and venison cobbler for hubby - both delicious and we managed to squeeze in a dessert too! Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful and in this very difficult period of time for all, but particularly in hospitality, need people to support as much as possible. I would say the Swan is on its way back to becoming the pride of the village again.

  Fabulous decor & food

  Have visited The Swan many times over the 18 years Ive lived in Tarporley-the recent refurbishment and updated menu is fantastic & Id say is the best this beautiful coaching inn has ever been. The quality of food is excellent-sea bass, spiced prawns, truffled celeriac as well as pub favourites-very impressed by the choice & standard of food. The decor and ambience is v high spec, cozy yet classy-love the quirky chairs! Overall this pub has really upped its game - would highly recommend.

  Excellent food rooms not to bad

  Have visited the Swan on a number of occasions, I guess the pub/ hotel is a bit of an oddity but in a positive way, I can never decide whether it is a cosy pub, bistro pub or a well run hotel i guess it is a mixture of all three. The food is of excellent quality especially the infamous fish and chips absolutely delicious, the rest of the menu is very pleasing with a good choice. The accommodation is good but not outstanding, rooms are nicely decorated although a bit on the small size and separate from the main building, For a few nights acceptable but not much longer. The building itself is really attractive with lots of nooks and crannies, a great bar with a superb selection of drinks, staff are very professional if a little robotic, all in all a great place for an evening out or a short stay i for one shall visit many times to come.

  Lovely local pub

  A lovely lunchtime home cooked fish & chips, cosy atmosphere, and the staff and management were very friendly and attentive. This place would be perfect for a good Christmas meal or for getting out in the new year. Charming local pub and we need to support them!

  Andrew and his team gave a very warm welcome and despite having a couple of hitches, everything was resolved quickly and positively. Delicious meal in the lovely dining room. Breakfast was simple (continental) but good and Josh looked after the guests really well. Would return for sure.
