  Interesting guests, good location

  Stayed for a week in mid April. Sort of a guesthouse where the owner lives nearby and the front desk is staffed at set times. Late arrival will incur a fee. Other guests from around the world interesting to talk to at breakfast. Breakfast is a set menu at a set time, so be aware. The house is beautiful, some rooms have private bath, some shared. A full size fridge on the 3rd floor is available to share. The front porch is pleasant to sit, with a bit of a garden. Walking distance to Dupont, Woodley and Adams Morgan.

  Not really a B&B

  I booked on trip advisor and when I checked in I was told specifically that breakfast wasn't included and I couldn't partake of the breakfast portion of the B&B, though I read the reservation and it DOES NOT breakfast would not be included. I didn't want much just coffee/tea and a muffin. I am going to DC in the next few months a lot and do not think I will stay here again. I am extremely disappointed. Looking at the Adam house for next week.

  Personal Touch!

  It is not just the proximity in the heart of the DC area... When you wake up and go down for your breakfast, it is pretty much like Mom or your Aunt cooking you a wholesome, fresh and nutritious breakfast and exactly how you want it...literally right in front of you! Hats off to "Yoshie", the hostess who does it all! When I go back to DC, I'll call the Taft Bridge Inn

  Well-located, quiet, comfortable

  A beautiful, turn of the 20th century building, quiet, off Connecticut and Columbia Avenues. Good breakfasts. Accommodating staff. DuPont Circle and its Metro station are 15-20 minutes walk; buses are closer.

  Arriving at this inn is like walking into someone's private home. It is beautifully furnished and decorated, lots of antiques, even the bathroom was pretty antique, the rooms were beautiful, great carpets, great paintings; the lady at the reception is like out of a Murakami novel, superfriendly, easy going and serving delicious, simple breakfast even when one had not ordered anything... a great place and such a charming contrast to the ghastly Marriotts of this world
