  Easy to like

  Next time in Japan, well probably book Toyoko Inn everywhere we go. Why not? Its central, its cheap, its friendly, its comfortable, it gives you breakfast (miso soup, rice balls and tea!). You even get a small, dorky gift upon arrival. Ok, I know why not its prefab and characterless, but if thats not a big problem, youll be very fine, especially in Obihiro, where facilities seemed quite new and the front desk ladies tried hard to reach through the language barrier. Train station was just a few minutes away on foot, and the smallish but very clean and comfortable room delivers what is promised. Hopefully all the other 200 or so Toyoko Inns around Japan work this well.

  Close to JR Station

  Now, it has changed name to "Toyoko Inn Tokachi Obihiro Ekimae". It locates at north exit 300 meters left of JR Obihiro Station. Also there are many restaurant in Obihiro Station. Vistor could have dinner here. In the date we arrived the hotel, water service machine is is failure. Hence we do not have drinking water until we left. INNINN 300

  Very close to station, yet quiet. Smallish room and bed

  Middle-sized hotel in good condition, clean. Small Japanese-style breakfast buffet. Asian guests, mainly middle-aged. In the centre, around 4 minutes' walk from JR Obihiro station, yet the neighbourhood and location are very quiet. Close to a street with izakaya bars, a Rokkatei cake shop, and a small family-run place opposite the railway station where they serve mouth-watering grilled pork. Car park on the premises. Minimal staff, but sufficient. You can grab toiletries and pyjamas downstairs. There is a small Japanese-style breakfast buffet in the morning in the lobby. Not a huge selection (rice porridge, egg omelette, pickles, dumplings, etc). Edible. Free PCs in lobby, microwave, vending machines with snacks and beverages. Smallish room and bed, with air-con, but you can also open the window to let in some fresh air. WiFi in room, can be a bit slow. Japanese toilet with water jet, small bath tub. TV, safety box, fridge, hair dryer, kettle, phone in room.

  Excellent

  I have never found a room so perfectly equipped and comfortable. It was like being at home. There was adequate light, space to hang clothes and place luggage, plus other minor details that contributed to make it much better than usual hotel rooms. It is silent and very conveniently located near the station. It is clean and the staff is kind though very strict concerning check in times. Very little or no English spoken, save for a guy. I definitely recommend this place. I stayed here in summer but I think it would be equally satisfactory in winter given the features of the room
