  Not what it used to be

  I've stayed at this property since it was a Hampton Inn, then a Travelodge, and now a Wingate; my most recent stay was disappointing to say the least. Since the remodel/renovation to become a Wingate, every stay has been 5 stars, I don't know if there has been a management change in addition to the current Covid issues that pretty much all hotels are experiencing, but the hotel is quickly falling into disrepair. Checked in a bit early just to throw my bags in the room; first glance, the room looks exactly as remembered so no worries. As I later returned to the room, I noticed that the ceiling looked dirty/dusty. I walked over to the window to pull the shade and noticed the floor was wet (AC leak)...then realized that was mildew/mold on the ceiling. This wasn't going to work so I went downstairs to request a room change, which was quickly given - I told the front desk person of the issue, not to complain, but just to make sure they were aware so that the problem could be fixed. As I walked to my new room, I noticed black stains on the drop down tiles on the ceiling, another sign of water issues. My new room happened to be the exact same room that I stayed in on my last trip in December. As I went into the bathroom, I noticed the ceiling above the shower was crumbling and peeling from water damage - something I noticed and pointed out when I checked out of my prior stay, so nothing had been done in 7 months, it had just been allowed to deteriorate. The furnishings in the room are starting to show some wear, but that is understandable. I always sleep well at this hotel, the bedding and pillows make me fall asleep and stay asleep, so those were top notch as always. I understand it is a difficult time in the travel industry as revenues have plummeted as people aren't travelling, but hopefully they can find away to fix these issues that have been deferred for far too long. Unfortunately, I will have to start looking at other options when my travels bring me to the Goodlettsville area.

  Friendly Staff, Room needed maintenance.

  The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was the HOD for a group of 4 travelers with me for work. Of our two rooms, one door would not lock - at all. You could barge in at any point even if the door was pushed closed firmly. The other, the bathroom was a mess. The toilet had to be manually flushed by pulling the tensioner handle from the inside of the tank, and the shower drain probably needs to be cleared out, water was ankle high at the end of a shower.

  Hot water runs out, not very clean.

  Hot water runs out fast and bathroom needs a good cleaning. Old urine around the toilet , and the room looked like it hadnt even been swept. Bed was okay, but they could put in better pillows for the high price of the rooms.

  Average hotel for your average needs...

  This hotel was pretty decent for your average needs. I wish the room had a microwave in it, and the WIFI worked 24/7..but hopefully they will improve on those things soon. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay.

  Cold Showers

  Staff was friendly enough but not overly attentive. The room was clean but not real attentive outside. I cant get over paying what I paid and being halfway through my shower and it going icy cold. If your boiler is going bad, lower your capacity until you get it fixed!
