    Fabulous stay

Just has a lovely 2 night stay. Very enjoyable meals, good service, Covid secure . Only down side was the lack of soundproofing in our room( no7) could really hear the people above us - footsteps, conversations etc. They were not being loud - just thin walls!

    Highly recommended!

The hotel is a fantastic base for exploring the Forest of Dean and has lovely walks from its doorstep. Our room had a luxurious bathroom and a big comfy bed. The generous breakfasts are delicious and feature lots of local suppliers make sure you book for dinner in the restaurant too!

    Sunday lunch extravaganza

Wow my first visit from Essex. Fabulous table dhote, three courses had to be eaten as they all looked amazing and they were. We savoured every mouthful. Pig cheek with celeriac and shallots was lovely. The artisan bread was so tasty. The beef so beautiful and pink just cooked to perfection. Lots of yummy veg, roast potatoes cooked around the meat and gravy which was superb. The Christmas pudding with honeycomb on top and brandy creme anglaise was among the best I have had. Even the petit fours and mint tea were awesome. This place is a gem and we shall certainly be back when Im next up. We frequent the Galvin brothers restaurant by us but you can certainly give them a run for their money, well done. Great staff too, perfect Sunday and only £25 for three courses amazing value!!!

    Sheer class

We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at the Tudor Farmhouse. Our suite was simply perfect... A gorgeous comfy bed with crisp white duvet offered a blissful nights sleep and the modern, spotless bathroom was everything I would love in my own home! But best of all was the little lounge with large comfy armchairs, TV, fridge and hospitality tray. It made our stay even more relaxing. The Covid measures put in place to keep guests safe is truly exceptional... Hand sanitisation is liberally available throughout the hotel and once checked in, the bedroom will not be accessed by any staff members. However anything you require will be left outside the door. We took advantage of the excellent DB&B rate and throughly enjoyed the local produce, well prepared and presented in the restaurant. The local Kingston ale is outstanding too. We were well looked after by each and every staff member too. Nothing is too much trouble. What is really impressive though is the constant investment in the property to make it a truly memorable experience for their guests. It is simply a beautiful hotel in an area of outstanding beauty. A perfect mix. We hope to return very soon.

    Christmas Break

We went to the Tudor Farmhouse for the 3 day Christmas break package. We did have to alter it slightly due to Covid 19. We arrived late on the 23rd December and were greeted by the lovely Stuart. We were given the key to our room and it was beautiful. The bathroom was only one you could dream of with a huge shower, roll top bath and under floor heating. We were given a beautiful Hamper filled with locally sourced gifts which was so thoughtful and a total surprise. We even had a decoration on the tree with our names on that we got to take home. On Christmas Eve we walked the short distance up to Clearwell Caves which had been decorated with Christmas trees and lights which was lovely. We then returned back to the hotel for Mince pies and mulled wine whilst a brass quartet played. It was so magical sitting outside in the cold wrapped up warm. We then had dinner in the restaurant which was outstanding! The food here never fails to impress me. On Christmas Day we got up and had breakfast and went for the most amazing walk through the hotel grounds and beyond were you have far reaching views all the way to Sugarloaf Mountain (I think) We even managed to help one of their sheep who had got stuck so that was our good deed of the day! We went to the restaurant for Christmas Lunch which was the best I have ever had! Whoever makes gravy like that deserves a medal! I had onion soup to start with a vegan cheese which was so tasty! The chocolate pudding for dessert and then straight in front of the fire in the lounge. Which is where me and my husband stayed for hours talking to the other residents who were staying. We had such a great time and the best grazing box when we got peckish later on. We reluctantly left early on boxing day morning after having breakfast in our room. I would have loved to have ventured off for another walk but Storm Bella was due and didn't want to get stuck driving in it. All in all the staff were amazing. We are so grateful that given everything that is happening with Covid we were able to have the best trip away and felt safe doing so. Everything was so well planned by the Tudor Farmhouse Staff down to the small little details to make you feel so at home. I cannot recommend staying here more. This was our 4th trip and we will be booking to come again hopefully in the Spring!
